UCF, Boise, Cinci all made lots of new fans in the last couple years by being in the exact position NDSU is in.
The Dome can plausibly brought to 21000 seats with existing proposals (south club seats + 350, north pressbox +400, westside box seating +800 to 1000, replacement of current box seating with regular seating +200

I purposefully try not to pay any attention to teh hockies and it turns out it’s not very hard to do at all. :)

I used to think it wasn't large enough, but attendance is declining everywhere.
21,000 sellout attendance would put NDSU in the middle of the pack in a G5 conference.

We would definitely have to do something. We are skating by right now under the interest prong of Title IX.
If we had to add sports my vote would be for women's wrestling and LaCrosse.

That will never happen, but as others have pointed out, that doesn’t need to happen for NDSU to be relevant. They already are to some extent. MOST fans of P5 schools know who NDSU is. If we are G5, with more opportunities to play those schools, you can bet your ass they will know our name.
Knowing your name and generating new fans that turn into revenue when you play San Jose State on tv are a little different. Especially if you expect that number of eyeballs year in and year out, and not just for a one off.
NDSU will literally never be a big ten school. Big xii maybe with stepping stones, money and luck. Either way, you aren't going to generate 100,000 ndsu fans in (pick one) New York, California, Texas, Florida even if you win the big xii championship over and over. If you want ndsu to really be a p5 school you need to develop billionaire alumni. Cause that's the only way it's happening anytime soon.

Curious. How reliable has your tin foil been over time? Hard to imagine that if somebody like Brake actually knows something that he would not break the story. Unless of course he is constrained by an NDA that is, or a source that would not speak on the record perhaps.

Texas and OU departing the big twelve is pretty big news. Does this create an opening/opportunity for ndsu? Not the direct jump but replacing a mountain west team who moves over???

Seeing elsewhere that the SEC has enough teams that don't want them. (A&M is already on the record there)
I don't think the Big 12 would replace with Mountain West, I bet they'd grab an American team.

This isn't my Idea, but the NCAA should move to the soccer model were teams move up and down leagues based on how well they do such as kicking out the bottom teams in the premier league and replacing them with the top teams from the 2nd teir.
