Wasn't Mark Merck also from Velva? Not sure how much he played though. I think there's maybe one or two more we're missing.

Hey!..respect , please for ND 9-man. You haven't REALLY played North Dakota football until you've been through "THE BATTLE OF BISBEE HILL". Now, this is no joke; in Bisbee, ND: if you stood in the north end zone, you could barely see the top of the goalposts in the south endzone. There was a tremendously steep hill at about mid-field!
Ahhhhhhh, the memories of a forgotten time.
Sorry to drift (again off of the thread topic), but until I was a Freshman ('79) our homefield was only 80 yards long, the goalposts were made out of old telephone poles, we had zero bleachers, and the time was kept on the field only (no scoreboard). People would just drive up to towards the sidelines and either sit on the hoods of their cars or stand amongst the players. And.....you guessed it, when the home team scored everyone would honk the be-jesus out of their Chevy pickup's horns!
the good old days
thats what high school football is all about
I remember when a neighboring school (Powers Lake) decided to have a community fundraiser to install lights at the FB field. One of their cheerleaders said, "I don't see why we need lights at the football field, we never play any games at night?"
LOL
GREAT SIDETRACKING OF A THREAD... *YAWWWWN*
Classic Lake game in twin cities was on FSN last week, some sweet talent in that.
Park Rapids LB/RB Kevin Vaadeland was on recieving end on a 42-yard TD pass down the left sideline to give the Panthers a 14-12 lead with 1:27 to play.
Kevin rushed for 133yds and 1 TD. Kid is 2 way starting captain with RB and LB/DE sometimes.
DGF defeated Park Rapids are last friday 41-7.
