Re: FBS? Doesn't the Fargodome need to be expanded first?
The FD is nice for High School Championship games too. I don't even watch when they play in gf. It's a championship game play where the champs play not where a crappy big sky team plays!
Re: FBS? Doesn't the Fargodome need to be expanded first?
Maybe we can just raise the roof.......
Re: FBS? Doesn't the Fargodome need to be expanded first?
This goes back to money. If you were an accountant and looking at the cost/benefit analysis, what would you think?
$50-100 million for a stadium.
$20 million increase in budget, every year.
Increased travel budget
Take those cost outlays and look at the possible revenues mitigated by fewer home games.
How long would it take to recoup that? Remember how hard it was to raise the money for the SHAC?

The problem is that the tickets WON'T get sold after a pattern develops where you don't need season tickets to be able to attend a game. The income stream becomes unreliable. That's why outdoors in Fargo is a bad idea.
Re: FBS? Doesn't the Fargodome need to be expanded first?
An outdoor stadium is a retarded idea. 1) the dome is an awesome home field advantage. Outdoor stadiums simply aren't as loud. 2) Many of the avid noise making fans in dome playoff games wouldn't be interested in sitting outside in Dec and Jan games and I can't blame them. 3) Believe it or not the dome is a good recruiting tool. I've spoken with former NDSU players who came largely because they had always wanted to play ball in a dome. Domes are expensive but If we are going to pay for a new stadium we might as well do it right.

Seriously we are fucking North Dakotan's and we can't handle a 10 degree day in mid November? WTF has happened to us???
Some of us suffer enough outdoors during the week. So sorry if wanting to be in the warmth during weekends somehow makes us wimps.

Currently yes, but we don't know what changes might occur down the line. Even if a playoffs never take place the other two reasons still stand

When was a FargoDome expansion studied by Fargo? I keep seeing random people post that can't be done but I didn't know it had been studied by Fargo.
