Montana did not have a trooper die in the line of duty for nearly 30 years. Then, In October, 2007 Trooper David Graham, 36, died in a traffic crash in Kalispell.
On August 26, 2008 Trooper Evan Schneider was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 2 near Columbia Falls. While in pursuit of a vehicle, Schneider was hit head-on by another vehicle that was forced into oncoming traffic.
In 2009 Trooper Mike Haynes' car was hit head on by a drunk driver traveling on the wrong side of the US 93 near Kalispell. Haynes died on March 27 from the injuries received in the crash.
And now Trooper Delaittre.
From a native Moorhead resident, and Bison fan living in Montana, I SALUTE, and thank you.
P.S. Troopers Graham, Schneider and Haynes were all killed in the county I live in.
It's a dangerous line of work and they know that going into it. A lot of people dog on police for some of the things they do but without them we would be a lot worse off. I've got two buddies I used to play ball with that are HP and when I see them I make sure to thank them for what they do (except if they ever pull me over, that would be a different story :D )

Not going to lie...this brought a tear to my eye. This is very admirable and makes me even more proud to be a Bison!

Looks like the forecast for highs in the upper 20s is not going to be correct. NWS is saying currently in the single digits with the temp not expected to get out of the teens today. Still saying calm to light wind
