Literally hear Andy refer to the Citadel game as another great destination game for the fans. LOL

Re: A new and better FBS thread
In regards to Missouri State, funny to see the following in the article. Here we've been told "it's only a flight,"....can't believe geography does matter.
Also "eventually" and "no timeline" I guess you could write an article about that regarding NDSU as well as we all know it'll happen "eventually."
-------
Those factors would include the regional aspect and the impact travel would have on student-athletes and their academics. The school would also have to look at the different on-field rivalries they can have in addition to having travel partners to ease the financial requirements.
"What are the financial requirements and what are the revenue changes that would offset some of that?" Smart said. "(MSU Athletics Director Kyle Moats) is always evaluating and engaging in those conversations. It just hasn't been the right fit yet or the right time."
While expenses would go up, revenue would also increase with larger guarantee payments for different athletics competitions, conference television and streaming deals, and bowl revenue.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
"There's not a question in my mind that, at some point, Missouri State will be playing FBS football," Smart told the News-Leader. "But it's gotta be the right move at the right time and that's just what we're trying to figure out."

So in other words, nothing more than a whim ...
He must know change is coming and doesn’t want to get left behind

You figured it would go down in June and July like in past years
No idea what this means for NDSU FB, but there will be movement soon

PAC/ACC still payout ~10 times what G5 conferences do.
The schools are just panicking because they make less than half what the B1G/SEC do.
Eventually the musical chairs will stop moving. Hope we find a good seat.

I'd settle for a bad seat

Re: A new and better FBS thread
MWC or AAC is ideal for NDSU

Wasn't Montana one of the original Pac-8 members?

Re: A new and better FBS thread
They weren't original members. The Pacific Coast conference was started in 1915. Idaho 1922-1959 and Montana 1924-1950 were added later..

Re: A new and better FBS thread
if the POWER 5 split off and the G5 still got 1 spot in the CFP.
wouldn't it be cool if the G5 had a 4 team Playoff to secure that 1 CFP spot? (just cut the last 2 games out of season)
just curious if that could be feasible, because that would be fun

If P5 split, they are taking the CFP and associated revenue with them.
The movement is towards the P5 increasing the number of conference games, and playing G5 schools less.
G5 may just become FCS on steroids. At that point, MVFC, Big Sky, and CAA might join them.
A D1 split is how we got FCS to start with. History repeating itself.

If the hypothetical P5/G5 split ever fully develops, I'd sure as hell rather be in AAC/MWC.
And maybe even MVFC over MAC if it elevates as a conference.
Imagine "moving up" only to find ourselves with SHSU/JSU or even EMU as part of the new "super FCS" reorg.
Moving conferences is ALL about who you are aligning yourself with and will play each year.
Regardless of level, I want to be aligned with schools where we can really enjoy the regular season conference games.

Yes True. AAC should've been a done deal by now but our ADMIN refuses to take off their skirts.

Must’ve missed the invite. Wonder why there’s hasn’t been one. Let’s see if we can narrow it down.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
To be fair the trickle down won't really begin until the big boy conferences complete their dick measuring contest.

Right, and it seems they are still trying to find them

there is no coordinated sales pitch by our ADMIN. ..... like NEVER!!

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Au contraire, mon frere
The BiG and the SEC are in John Holmes territory.
The rest of P5 is in the steady working stud category.
Everybody else is pre pubescent..
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
There is no sales pitch needed. Conferences already know what they want and know what you offer. Invitations don't go out because of shiny Power Point presentations..

Re: A new and better FBS thread
No sales pitch makes me laugh out loud. Makes me think about Tommy Boy travelling around selling brake pads.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
No it isn't..It is all done through vetting.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Yea You guys are right, lets just sit back with Stony Brooks thumb up his ass like NDSU has for the last 5 years...... that's NOT WORKING! You gotta TELL THESE CONFERENCE YOU ARE READY PUBLICLY something NDSU HAS NEVER DONE.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
How do you know that? I know the MW has discussed NDSU and they wouldn't do that is you had not expressed an interest in moving up..

So telling them publically is better than telling them in private?????

Comments like this only shows how little he knows. Everyone involved in college athletics is very aware of NDSU and the quality of the program. I once spoke with the director of operations for a major college program. I asked him if they would ever schedule NDSU. He said, "no, we might lose." I've volunteered at several NCAA basketball tournaments meeting coaches and administrators from major schools and conferences. The fact I went to NDSU often comes up, and they are very aware. I've met several current and former NFL players and officials. They are all very aware of the success of NDSU athletic programs.
Any public announcement is only to appease fans. These conversations are generally done in private. College administrators and conference leadership is a small group. They know each other well.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
The only reason anyone knows about ndsu is because of pumping up.
Only one man capable of pumping it up eh.

Re: A new and better FBS thread
We should thank him every time he posts that his pumping up has kept ndsu from becoming an online clown college in Hoople eh

Anyone with a hint of common sense should know this. Unbelievable that you actually have to spell it out like that.
