This is correct. The last year of eligibility for DII is the first year of the transition. So yes, they will be eligible their redshirt senior year.

From today's Forum,
"Horner narrows picks to NDSU and UND
Fargo South senior wing back Josh Horner said he has narrowed his college choices to North Dakota State and North Dakota.
Horner plans to visit NDSU this weekend. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound senior rushed for 1,865 yards and 28 TDs on 154 attempts in his final prep season, helping the Bruins to the Class 3A state football championship."

Thanks, now that we have a link, I've added him to the "master post." Too bad it didn't say whether he had an offer or not - I'm assuming he'll get an offer if he doesn't already have one. Hopefully, I can just move him to the "signed list" without going through that step though :)
Re: 2008 Recruiting Radar
i think it would be good to get horner...the fargo south pipeline needs to continue!

I believe he will be a Bison after the visit this weekend. I suppose he will be up at the basketball game. I think it will come down to the college where he will be able to play the position that he has the most interest in. Just my .02 that is probably only worth half that!

I think he will have a legitimate shot at starting and I don't think the average Joe realizes how good the South team is. Horner will be 2 years behind DJ and Voightlander so he could be the top dog someday. Would LOVE to see another Fargo guy take over for Roehl! Plus it seems like local guys always stick around for the full 4 years and they have more pride. Look at Roehl... he's a pimp for NDSU FOOTBALL and I love it!

Re: 2008 Recruiting Radar
From what I hear from someone pretty close to him, he would really like to be a Bison. He is also very interested in some of the academic programs offered at NSDU also.
