Big win for the Irish. They should move up a few spots in the poll.

Lmaoo something tells me that the best place for them is the 10-12 range this year. The o-line is just not any good. Will win plenty of games on talent alone.

Coastal medical staff should be fired. The QB got hit in the head hard enough he couldn’t keep Gatorade down. Missed 1 series. Total disgrace.

Pretty easy answer from someone who knows I’m sure, but: generally doctors are held accountable by other doctors (lawyers by other lawyers, engineers by other engineers), but who holds college trainers accountable. I mean we should all expect an FBS school to have an MD on staff that can figure out brain injuries, but if they don’t and risk someone’s life, who holds them accountable? Why is it the coach/AD? Audit is going to reply with a $ or two I know :)

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
What is up with these replay officials? navy just got screwed on a goal line review that was clearly a TD but not ruled as such and then confirmed as correct from the booth. Just terrible.

Virginia 42 BYU 38
AT HALFTIME! HAHAHAHA. wow O/U was 66
the LIVE O/U is 117 points HAHAHAHA holy shit.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Good grief. Virginia 42, BYU 38 at the half. Neither team is aware that they are allowed to play defense when the other team has the ball.

Not sure. Money isn't the issue. He's been at ND over a decade. The rumor among the ND faithful the past year or so is that he was only planning on staying another year or two while the school got a better look at the new DC or to see how Luke Fickell does at Cincy.
I suppose if he was planning on calling it a day at ND and wants a fresh start at a big program, it doesn't really get much bigger than LSU.
If he's gone: thank you BK for bringing Notre Dame to a respectable level where they belong. He got them to take football seriously again. Will leave the program in a significantly better place than he found it.

Seems gone. He sent a message to his players tonight telling them he was gone and informing them of a team meeting tomorrow morning at 7 where he will give them more info.
https://twitter.com/PeteSampson_/sta...21214340882434
Also, the deal is reportedly 10 years / north of $100 million with incentives.
Notre Dame administrators and coaches totally blindsided. One assistant coach told a reporter that the news broke just as he was leaving a recruit's house. Said it made him look like a f------ a--hole.

Tough to turn that money down but I can't imagine he will be there for ten years. I think he's about 60 years old...and thats going to be a big culture shock. He's from the northeast and has hasn't coached outside of Michigan/Ohio/Indiana for the past 30 years. Will miss him anyway.
ND people are reporting 7 years/100 million. Also reporting defensive coordinator is "a done deal" to be the next coach.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
He’ll fit right in at LSU. Even easier to recruit and cover up for rapists down there so that’ll be a load off. He can just concentrate on football.

Well players can do it to coaches now so why can’t coaches do it to players. Welcome to the league recruit, you won’t be at ND for more than two years anyways

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
The ND message boards right now are like BV when the news about Bohl got out. Total pandemonium.
-
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Like all the broke people who complain about this stuff wouldn't jump at big opportunities if they had them.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
ND has promoted the defensive coordinator. Retained most of the staff I think. Offensive coordinator (former Nd QB for Kelly) decided to stay.
....and ND people have confirmed Fickell wanted the job. Guess we shall see.
Further, sounds like ND may have committed money to all the upgrades Kelly wanted but never got.
No ill will towards BK. I thought he'd stay a couple more years. But will always love him. I hope he gets a title at LSU.*
*sounds like his contract is guaranteed for like $88 million if he completes 3 seasons....thats more money than ND paid him since 2010
-
Re: College Football Opening weekend for 2009
Could NDSU please please play Wake Forest now that TAMU has backed out? If there was ever a time to email administration, this is it.
Edit: I just emailed him and I would encourage all of Bisonville to do so as well. Matthew.Larsen@ndsu.edu -- it's that easy.

Nice addition for the Ohio Valley Conference - a school with a lot of potential from the D2 ranks.
They have been mentioned in the past as a possible Summit League expansion target. Located in St Charles MO, about 20 miles from St Louis, with an enrollment in the 7-8 thousand range.
On a recruiting note, Lindenwood runs a big Summer Camp that is very well attended by MVFC teams, among others.

Maybe but why would klieman want to go to the fbs dumpster fire that is now known as cornhusker football.
Pelini must just be laughing his arse off right now.

Wow what an interesting week of college football, ranked teams go down and some new names climbing to the top!
