Sorry so disappoint, but you didn’t trigger me. Just hoped you had more to add.
Would you have preferred someone that had no experience at NDSU? Or just the wrong one with experience at NDSU got selected? Time will tell if it was the correct hire or not, but I’m sure as hell going to give him a chance.

Some articles out there saying P5 will take less high school kids, and focus on proven guys in the portal.
So, might be more HS talent available. We'd have to develop them and reload constantly, but it could work.
That would mean we would more likely be rostering younger, less physically developed and less "veteran" players.
Nope. Don't like it.

Not disappointed. I think we feel the same way, no one has anything more to add. I'm fine with experience at NDSU but that shouldn't be the ONLY qualifier but that seems to be the only thing anyone can come up with. I also understand that if he did an amazing job at Iowa or Wyoming he would have been hired at the P5 level and not a HC at FCS. Do I hope it works out? Of course. Do I like the hire? No. Was he the most qualified? Honestly I don't know who interviewed so maybe?
Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
I am interested to see what a change at head coach can bring. I in no way believe that TP is Nick Saban or Urban Meyer but I also do believe that his previous experience at NDSU as well as his other experiences elsewhere give him a perspective that could result in a renewed focus on what is at the heart of the NDSU program. Maybe the results on the field are similar to Entz and staff but I for one am excited for the change. I had become less enthused by the product on the field over the past two years and this is about as good of an outcome as I could have hoped for. Entz moves on of his own accord. Polasek comes back with a passion to keep the NDSU tradition alive. It at the very least breathes new life into it. He knows the expectations. Now it's on him to deliver results.
Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
other than deion sanders who's really an expert at the transfer portal at this point? i think everyone's still figuring it out.

Norvel at Florida State.
We live down here now and he turned the program around by supplementing his recruiting class with portal kids. The place was a disaster when he was hired.
I’m not a fan of the portal, but unfortunately we are going to have live with it for now anyway.

Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
I believe Deions expertise in the portal is in his name only. That’s it. He doesn’t seem to be that great of a coach. Will they win more games next year? Honestly I doubt it. With that being said, I would like to think that Polasek would take some flyer shots at some big name guys. In his press conference he basically state that you won’t know if a kid is interested unless you engage with them first to determine if they’re is mutual interest. I didn’t really get that vibe from Entz. You never know unless you try.

I really was impressed with Polasek saying that as well. He sounds comfortable just asking. What is the worst that can happen? Sometimes there is an element of flattery when you get a call from someone who is interested in you and so a player just might express an interest back to them just to explore what possibilities there might be. Look how Taylor Swift's life changed when Travis Kelce put himself out there for her. Not that Polasek is Taylor Swift but the principle is the same.
Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
The portal should be used to fill gaps, not build a team. I'm not sure I've seen a coach at NDSU use it effectively yet. Richman is pretty much just a portal pinata, Entz isn't really any better. With the collective and other things it seems we have more resources at TP's disposal and it apperas he is ready to leverage them if needed. I will say having a passionate HC that believes in the program and can recruit lights out is a good weapon to have in the current enviroment.
