Trust me on this: Our AD/staff have heard our message to move up and are working their collective asses to get there. Not an easy task …. at all.
They hear us and understand the landscape.

I'll keep biting as long as you do. I've provided tons of real world evidence of why we need to be careful in this transition. All you've done is blame other people for it not happening on your time table.
Direct question to you. UMass is a former FCS champ and moved to FBS. Would you trade positions with them?

Great to hear! Wish they would have heard it sooner but better late than never.

I said the State Board of Higher Ed could block our move. I was always completely open this is only conjecture, never claimed to have insider knowledge. I feel absolutely vindicated in this view after the California Board of Regents held meetings on blocking UCLA's move to the Big 10. The ND SBoHE without any doubt has the power to block a move to FBS. I don't know if they will, just that it is most certainly a possibility.

So then you believed in a "shadowy cabal" before BLB ever mentioned it

You think you’ve provided evidence but all you’ve done is justified your own fear. None of it is evidence of anything. UMass has a terrible FBS football program but have an athletic department and University that have as much reputation if not more than NDSU. I wouldn’t trade with them because I’m a proud NDSU alum. But I also wouldn’t be ashamed to be a UMass alum and/or fan.

the NDSBOHE CAN NOT STOP NDSU FROM GOING FBS.

No, not even close. The SBoHE might not be acting in NDSU's interests, but an elected body with open records laws is most definitely not a shadowy cabal. Their equivalent in CA is openly debating whether to block UCLA's move. Remember that I've never said the SBoHE is blocking this, only that they could.

Give me a legitimate reason why the SBOHE would prevent it
I don't care about ucla
We're talking about ND

SBoHE is not an elected body.

Saturday, Nov 4: Kennesaw St
Saturday, Nov 25: Middle Tennessee
So only 2 Saturday games in November, against crappy teams.
Great for the fans, eh?

I mean they’re playing Air Force in Houston as essentially a home game. They also have a road game at UH 30 minutes down the road.
I would absolutely trade regular season schedules with Sammy. Absolutely.

Playing at Houston is like us playing at the Gophers stadium and calling that a home game.
I enjoy attending Saturday home games.
SHSU has only 2 of those. In November. Against crappy CUSA teams.
Sorry, but MVFC home schedule is much better than this.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Generally, in the MW, schools only get two home games in November. Some years you get a great matchup. Some years you don't. That is pretty much true of every conference..

Ya the closest FBS schools arent scheduling NDSU anytime soon regardless of FCS or FBS.
And those Tuesday Thursday games are trash.
other than that SHSU is probably the only school an average NDSU football fan even knows exists in the CUSA,
regardless….fuck it. Get r done. The kids will love whoever the eastern western directional school comes to fargo.

Are you saying MWC teams don't get Saturday home games in September or October? Find that hard to believe.
CUSA has a media deal that exchanges $800k payout for Tuesday, Wednesday games on CBSSN. It's horrible.
I'd take our current media deal over what CUSA has. We'd be making less to play on days nobody watches or attends.

CUSA media deal is awful. AAC and MW are much better

Re: A new and better FBS thread
Any weekday games will be a wreck for NDSU regardless of conference.

Yes MW schools get home games in all the months of the season..4 home conference game..2 or 3 home ooc.
November is the last part of the conference season so it is usually 2 at home 2 on the road..Just like every other conference.
Nevada has this for the ooc
At USC
Idaho State
At Texas State
Kansas

Yeah that’s why I called the Houston game a road game. And it’s not like going to Minneapolis, it’s comparable to the drive to Fergus Falls. Many people who live in Huntsville work in Houston.
This year’s home MVFC schedule is trash. I completely agree with you on the non-Saturday football games though. So dumb.
I don’t like CUSA, I don’t even know if I necessarily want us going there. Any other conference I’m a yes in a heartbeat.

The MVFC media deal is zilch. NDSU’s media deal is based on the past, not the future. SDSU, UND, USD, UNI none of them have anywhere close to the deals that NDSU have. What will the next NDSU media deal look like if interest continues to wane? It is bizarre to me how so many act like we’re already in the MWC and considering a move to CUSA. The MVFC has essentially one positive and that’s the other Dakota schools and UNI

The amount this board overrates the MVFC is really insane, especially with Murray State further driving down the quality of the league. Just look at our home schedule this year, features aboslutely nothing that is compelling. The Valley is basically like the bloated Big Sky now.

Problem is there isn't a major FBS stadium in Fergus Falls, so Minneapolis would be our equivalent.
SHSU is getting 4 true home FBS games next year, since Kennesaw will still be FCS. None of those home games are exciting.
That home schedule is horrible for fans, only two Saturday games to attend, one of those at thanksgiving.
I would bet SHSU actual attendance declines next year.
I generally agree a move to the AAC or MWC would be great. SBC would be good. MAC would be acceptable to me.
CUSA however is a total turd sandwich, and worse than what we have today.

I actually think it's a great OOC schedule for being FCS. 2 home games against worthy opponents (Maine and Central Ark) and a home/destination game in Minneapolis against EWU. I think each of those games is interesting, plus to get essentially all 3 OOC games at home is pretty remarkable.

All three teams didn’t make the playoffs last year, wouldn’t win a third of their conference games if they were in the MVFC.
And yeah, honestly for FCS it’s not that bad of a schedule. The problem is that it’s FCS

Is interest from a media perspective continuing to wane? What is NDSU'S TV ratings for the year?

I would think that as game attendance goes down, TV viewing would go up, but curious if that is the case…

To me, the ratings are what would drive the media contract. It may even suggest that interest in the program isn't actually falling...
