Or expand it with this new way of looking at how to pick the teams and I believe it would include even more diversity in who’s in the tournament and that very well could include multiple (2-3) G5 teams.

Yeah but I think auto bids for P5 conference champs needs to happen, and then they can use whatever makes the most sense, like that system for example, to figure out the rest.

Oregon D.C. and iirc also a BSU alum, like Choate is.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Unpopular opinion: scrap the playoff and go way back to pre-BCS traditional bowl matchups (Big10 vs. Pac10 in Rose Bowl, etc.) New Years Day was glorious. Two polls and ocassionally a split decision. It was awesome.

Villanova and Richmond won it the two earlier years. Why not go back to last 14 then and give the CAA two more?

I would not be opposed to that but you would also have to throw out the idea of a national champion too. It's hard for both to exist at the same time. We were in Memphis once during the Liberty Bowl and the number of activities and events around it looked like fun. The bowls are so much more than just the game. They are week long festivals.

I support this only so I can make fun of the FBS while NDSU is still FCS. I would rather NDSU move up to FBS if there is a chance at G5 sniffing a playoff, however much of a long shot it would be...

Question for you---If a runner passes the line to gain then reverses field and crosses back the line to gain and is tackled is it still a first down?

If they return behind the line to gain under their own volition then no but if they are pushed back then yes.

Have a old high school friend and by North Dakota standards nearly neighbor (was my uncle and aunts down the road neighbor) that lives in Arlington apparently had frost on the windshield down there and will be getting possible snow tomorrow morning. Would have been FCS championship today.

Yes, tomorrow shaping up similar to championship game last year. Probably won’t warm up in afternoon though.

This is correct. Also if they are pushed back by a defender but regain control again and tries to advance they don't get forward progress.

Torn meniscus led to Tuesday surgery for @CaledoniaBBall star Eli King, and he has been lost for the season. What a blow to Coulee Region basketball
Sorry to see this. Was hoping King and his Caledonia team could make the Minnesota tournament so could watch.
Eli King is a big-time recruit as both a QB and a PG. Minnesota has offered for both sports and he has many other P5 and P6 offers.

Will Farniok - 6’ 3” 295 - Nebraska
Was a back-up center this season for the Cornhuskers, has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer. With 2020 not counting as a year of eligibility, looks like Farniok will have 3 years of remaining eligibility. Was a 3 star prospect out of Sioux Falls Washington, South Dakota’s top prospect in 2018.

#Badgers tight end Gabe Lloyd is in the transfer portal, a source tells @Badger247
Lloyd played in 22 games for Wisconsin, primarily making an impact on special teams. He played in one game during the 2020 season and would be a graduate transfer.
Was a NDSU commit back in the day before flipping to Wisconsin.
(is from Green Bay Area)
Son of former Bison RB Doug Lloyd who played during the veer option heyday.

Farniok transfers to Tulsa - wondered if he would end up in Brookings or Vermillion, but instead he chooses to Live on Tulsa Time.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
Interesting game going on right now. Tarleton State (D2 Xfer) is playing against FBS New Mexico State. No idea there were any FBS teams playing this spring. Tarleton State leads 40-10 at the beginning of the 4th.

NMSt is the only one, and they don’t really count.

40-10 is still impressive for Tarleton.

I hate these huge super-conferences...much rather have the Big 12 and get the old SWC back...

Boise St could make them a nine team league.

Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
According to the guest on DP right now, it’s already a done deal and will be official in a week or so. And poor TAMU got left out of the discussions. Boo hoo hoo
How ironic would it be if KSU ends up at the second level of CFB, right along-side the Bison …
I think this is going to be an epic realignment, but I guess we’ll see. The speed of it appears to be SEC worthy at least
