Why so many empty seats? The team sucked.
I'll tell you there were plenty more then 12,000 (67%) for every game(Southern Illinois, Robert Morris). What's your excuse? How many season ticket holders do the Bison have with the recent "success"?
Ill offer you the opportunity to withdraw the argument now... you're just not gonna win!

Maybe as a % of population or school size, yes maybe. But as someone who has witnessed both Iowa and NDSU "take over" the dome, I can assure that Iowa travels in much larger numbers. It isn't even close on face value, and when you factor in the fact that UM ticket holders do not care at all about NDSU and that Iowa is their biggest rival, it speaks volumes. Those Hawkeyes travel
Wisconsin also did a good job of filling the dome. Not like Iowa, but again, I've never seen anything like that last dome game in my life.

I hear people from Iowa just take over handicap bathroom stalls.

OK, OK--maybe Kill will get you guys headed in the right direction. I think we have something between 9K and 10K season ticket holders. Remember, we are just an FCS team. We can't compete attendence-wise with Big 10 schools--no way, no how!
Can you actually "tailgate" (using our mutual, generally accepted definition) at the fairgrounds

What argument?
I said that Gopher Fans didn't show up because the team sucked. It's embarassing.
I asked why the Bison fans didn't show up for multiple games either. Seems like a fair question.

that's the game I was at! I saw a lot of drunken shenanigans that night in the Iowa-dominated cheap seats and even I was shocked to read the details of that story. Legendary stuff.

Wasn't really comparing attendence, just percentage of capacity. But I imagine the Fargo Dome is one of the bigger venues in the conference. Gopher fans come now for the novelty of the new stadium for the big games, but that definitely wore out fast.
There are quite a few people that tailgate in every sense of the word at the fairgrounds. $10 gets you in I think.
I drank out of a gigantic plastic cup at the private lot I used to have a spot in, and we never got in trouble. I have no idea what the Day's Inn security will be like though.

Iowa fans are the the worst fans in the Big 10, no question. I actually think it's mostly the Iowa fans that live in the MSP area that cause the most problems.

That's what we have to do in the westlot of the Fargodome:hide: so as not to get arrested, even though the Fargo law enforcement patroling the lot know that we have alcohol in the cups--kinda like a don't ask/don't tell policy.
Thanks for the info on tailgating. I'll save my smack for next fall. Just hope Kill doesn't get his team heading in the right direction before our game.

Our metro area isn't 60 times the capacity of our stadium, just sayin...
