It didn't look like Entz was leveraging these things. Polasek as come and said we need to do a better job using the transfer portal and NIL. College football has changed and, from what Polasek has said, he sees it and is ready to utilize that change to make NDSU football better.

Looks like last year in wyoming (according to 247 Sports) they lost 15 and gained 3 from the portal.

Yeah we'll see. If we're going to all of a sudden start taking a bunch of portal players every year watch our HS recruiting take a crap. A few kids to fill gaps and fit our culture is one thing but a bunch of mercenaries will destroy what we've built.

Yup. I'm sure they did. Like I said, it's exciting that Polasek is planning to utilize the portal in a way NDSU has not yet done.

I think you're reading a bit much into his comments. As I recall he said they would utilize the portal in a way that wouldn't be detrimental to the current locker room but that the primary focus would be on recruiting high school players. He also said that he'd prefer to focus on portal guys who the coaching staff has a previous relationship with. Not sure it's going to be that drastic of a change but having a collective at his back and a good network of coaches, players, and recruits around the Midwest should help him.

like what? lol losing more kids? We got some kids from the portal last year?
Re: Welcome back HC Polasek
One recruiting strategy under Klieman and Entz has been very limited offers to high school recruits. IIRC bruin has posted some numbers where NDSU has had a fraction of the offers of a lot of FBS schools in the region have. If they're looking to leverage the portal more for guys who they had previous relationships with it might be worth making more connections with high school recruits even if you don't think you've got a shot at landing them out of high school. Never know what might pay off down the road...

We get it, you aren’t a fan of Coach P.
I guess it’s your thing to always be negative about basically everything, but seriously give it a rest. A lot don’t like Lakes, but at least he has takes that aren’t f’n negative all the time. have a take that isn’t just arguing with someone for the sake of argument.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Entz, but it was after a few years. People can disagree, and that’s fine. I could have been completely wrong.
Can you at least give him a chance and see what he does? He said it yesterday, he’s not bring in anyone that would not fit the culture or in the locker room.

Just to clarify. Are you saying that Wyoming lost 15 kids and gained 3 from the portal and saying that’s a reflection on Polasek? I’m genuinely curious since my brain isn’t working today.
