The Pac-12 affiliation makes far more sense for San Diego State. There’s also an order of operations here: 1) Media rights negotiations; and 2) conference expansion. The Big 12’s media rights negotiations are trailing the Pac-12’s by about a year. I think San Diego State will eventually land in the Pac-12 Conference.
Also, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and ASU aren’t going anywhere in this cycle. Don’t buy into the hysteria from the misinformed, unsourced message-board honks. They’re busy back-pedaling this week. In the last few months, I’ve talked with numerous high-level officials on a variety of Pac-12 campuses. My sources never wavered

I think he's just trolling us with talk of "big time" games vs FIU and NMSU.
I'm a Liberty guy? How do you know that? What evidence do you have of that, or do you only see on Twitter what you want to see? How can you not see how I promote the other schools equally, but you arbitrarily decide I'm singularly loyal to Liberty? I am loyal to all of them and I have attended none of them, but you do you, sunshine.
Those talks about NDSU & SDSU are purely explorative. C-USA has not officially reached out to those schools yet, but you would be naive and vain to assume discussions haven't happened and there is zero interest on our side.

One thing is clear: you do not work for CUSA, though you do run around the interwebs trying to act like some quasi representative. I don't know your precise linkage to liberty, but its pretty obvious. This act of "supporting" all the cusa schools is silly. Most of your stuff looks like copy and paste from Reddit.
I can just as easily run around and say I "support" all the NCAA teams.
What I do know is all the connected journalists have said there is zero interest on NDSU's side.

That's fine. You can believe what you want. I really don't care. You can believe whatever conspiracy theories you want about me and Liberty that you THINK in your small little mind are allegedly obvious. You can believe that I regularly post content from Reddit even though I never go on Reddit. My job isn't to make haters of CUSA like you believe me. It's to promote CUSA and to inform what I know. And for the love of God, I never said NDSU was interested. I said CUSA was interested.

Why is it your job to promote the CUSA and inform?

If the Pac loses a bunch of schools all bets are off but that doesn't appear to be the case at this time..

CUSA should be interested in the Dakota state schools because they would instantly be the best teams in that conference. They would be a bigger draw and interest that any other existing team. Which may be the exact reason they wouldn’t offer football only invites. We are not sharing any media revenue with those low life’s!
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
And NDSU is interested in the CUSA if it is a football only invite and we don’t have to share our superior media deal.

If CUSA is interested, then NDSU darn well better be interested.

What McFeely has to say about CUSA
https://twitter.com/McFeely_Inforum/...f3PKXZ1F8Vnn8A
NDSU belongs in FBS, but not in this trash conference.
It will only get worse when they add Tarleton and SFA.
Imagine a home schedule of Tarleton, FIU, SHSU and Kennesaw
Add a MAC home game and a FCS game. If we're lucky one P5 away game.

We aren't adding Tarleton and SFA.They were hotly pursued, but they aren't as ready as our people thought they would be.
Look, since I can clearly see that you're a very negative person, I'm not saying anything more on the topic. I'll leave you to your negativity & delusions. Also, I stand by my reply to McFeely, who also is as negative as you are.

You sure were busy pumping them up as great adds recently.
"Aren't as ready" is a nice spin on it.
Matt Brown says SFA doesn't want to move right now due to costs. Also says Missouri St said no thanks to CUSA again. They want SBC.
The latest hot candidates are said to be UCA, Austin Peay, and North Alabama. Better start pimping them too.
I can also answer your question on why EKU isn't being added - WKU is blocking that move.
CUSA is running out of options, so maybe they hold at 10 for a while. Otherwise, its bottom of the barrel adds.

Eastern Kentucky is not being "blocked" by Western Kentucky. Tim Caboni even made a public statement calling that assertion "nonsense." Guess you missed that one while rummaging through your meaningless Reddit messages.
Missouri State made a statement last fall saying they were not interested at a time before the D1 Transformation Committee made quite a few eye-opening changes. Missouri State has not made a public statement on the matter since. Matt Brown is full of crap.
UCA, North Alabama, & Austin Peay are not candidates to join Conferences USA. Period. Again, Matt Brown, who has allegiances to the Sun Belt, has gone out of his way to spread misinformation about C-USA in order to drag the league through the mud to bolster the Sun Belt, whose fans are a vast contributor to the financing of ExtraPoints.
As far as Tarleton, they needed a waiver to expedite their transitions. They are still a good candidate, but not one that could occur before 2026. SFA has very competitive sports but financing massive upgrades is an issue, which is why they are looking at moving to a state system.

Matt Brown is the Senior Editor for The Athletic College football. He also contributes to D1Ticker, which most ADs follow.
He covers all of Division I, is a Penn State alum, and spends most of his time on P5 conferences.
He is usually one of the first to report conference invites.
It's ludicrous to suggest he has bias towards the Sun Belt or against CUSA.
I suppose McFeely, Pete Thamel and others are all biased and wrong also?
These are the most reputable and reliable reporters with the most connections.
WKU's statement looked like thinly veiled political cover for why EKU won't be selected.
Are you saying Tarleton is a better candidate than EKU, or that EKU will be added?
Missouri St has been reported by other sources also as having discussions with the SBC.
When multiple reliable reporters are saying something, thats a lot of smoke.

Pete Thamel is the only one with any legitimacy as he works for ESPN. Your boyfriend, Mike McFeely only knows what is coming out of the mouths of people in Fargo. He has no clue what it being said on Olympus Boulevard in Irving. Anyone, whose social media is covered with so much political bullshit like his is not an authoritative source on anything sports outside of Fargo.

he has zero sources in Bison nation or fcs. that's why he stalks this board and some of our Twitter feeds. agreed.
hell kolpack/izzo don't even have sources.

You are acting like a clown, and its becoming obvious why your internet posts are routinely mocked by everyone else.
Liberty folks always have this victim mentality of why the world is biased against them.

My comments are mocked because I support Commissioner Judy MacLeod, the C-USA staff, and our member institutions. It is no secret that ours is the most despised athletic conference in America, and Commissioner MacLeod is the most hated commissioner despite doing only what her members' leaders asked of her. By the way, what's your obsession with Liberty?
This is my Twitter page.

Where in the absolute fuck do you get the idea that I only care about Liberty? Why do I get the feeling that you're trying to make this about politics?

Re: A new and better FBS thread
I actually like Liberty. Good football and good basketball. Flawed leadership at times, but human beings are flawed, so no surprise there. Still, a good aspirational mission of being a Christian university. But some people hate Liberty for their own personal, biased reasons. And then when Liberty fans (who themselves have done nothing wrong) notice the hate, they get hated on some more for having a victim complex. I mean, I've seen that play out on the CUSA board. I'm sure Liberty fans are used to it.

Ahh yes, this is great. Let's bring religion and politics into this discussion. That's what it needs. Maybe we could talk about the potential existence of an afterlife to really round out the discussion.

I just said I liked Liberty and that they are good in football and basketball. I think it is odd that people can't seem to talk about Liberty or BYU without getting triggered.

Like I said before, we're hated. The most hated. Because of our football. But this is why I fully support the Division 1 Transformation Committee's proposal to eliminate automatic qualifying bids to the NCAA Tournament. It makes things fair for conferences like ours that are more invested in basketball when conferences like the MAC, Sun Belt, and others that put almost all of their resources into football while leaving pocket change for basketball are no longer playing in March Madness in the Big Dance.

No, I wasn't talking about you. You're comment wasn't a trigger reaction. It was funny actually. I did indeed put it softly. But I don't hold thousands of students, staff, and faculty accountable for what a president does in secret.
I was replying to 92's comment, but really just making a general observation about what I've seen on many sports boards. I'm not a BYU fan, but I see the same kind of invective directed at them as I see directed at Liberty on these sports boards. So I was commenting about that.

If it is any consolation All4One, I've taken a bunch of lumps around here because I actually think CUSA is the most viable path for NDSU to FBS and believe we should have been putting ourselves out there to the conference during the realignment craze. I'm in a minority on this. But then again, a few years ago, I was a minority on wanting to go FBS. Now most people are onboard with the idea. A year or two from now, people will see that CUSA would have been a good option, but the doors will be closed.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
Looking past the clown show, how anyone can get on board with a conference adding the worst of FCS to its ranks is beyond me.
A lot of media out there saying this may be the worst "fbs" conference ever assembled, and I agree.
Can't imagine replacing MVFC games with JSU, FIU, SHSU and even possibly SFA/Tarleton in the future.
It sounds like Tarleton isn't even off the table, just delayed a couple years.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
I'm so FBS it hurts sometimes and even I know that the onus is on CUSA to prove it's viable beyond the next 12 months before NDSU even starts to sniff around there.
And no, adding Kennesaw was not the move anyone was looking for. Neither are EKU or Tarleton.

Getting rid of basketball AQ bids because you suck at football is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while.
You seem to think this will penalize the other G5 conferences, but all it will do is allow the Power conferences to grab 95% of the bids.
-
Re: A new and better FBS thread
College Basketball does move the needle quite a bit, wish we had a bigger sword with that sometimes.
that said. if Mountain West was OFFERED a proposal by NDSU ADMIN.. a CREATIVE one.... I bet NDSU could swing a deal. (we take less tv money if we keep our current tv set up) that's a win win, take a lesser percentage of March Madness money yearly, there are WAYS for NDSU to sweeten the deal for the MWC.
but we'd have to actually pick up a phone or email them to get started, something they HAVE NOT DONE YET!
