North Dakota State women's basketball head coach Jory Collins has announced the addition of Amelia Hobson to the 2024 signing class.

Hobson joins the Bison from Parkdale Secondary College in Parkdale, Australia.

"We're super excited to have Amelia joining our program," said Collins. "She is just scratching the surface of what she has the potential to become. Amelia is a long 6-1 guard with very good athleticism and is already highly skilled. For a young player, she has a great feel for the game and makes everyone around her better. She also fits our developing culture with her work ethic and commitment to the game. She has a very high ceiling and it will be fun to work with her when she gets here."

Hobson finished her career surpassing the 2,000 career points mark with 2,221. She was the fourth-highest scorer in the Victorian Championship League with 145 total points this past season. Hobson was also selected to the under 18s Victorian State Team, which recognizes the top 10 players in the state.

Hobson joins Claire Stern and Marisa Frost in the 2024 class after the duo signed back in November.

The Bison finished the 2023-24 season with the most wins in the NDSU Division I era with a 22-12 overall record and went on to make their second straight appearance in the Women's National Invitational Tournament

She is a point guard, which we really haven't had in Jory's tenure.

Not really fair to say, Heaven was a point guard, she just drew so much attention that the offense worked better with Shulte running the point. Glad to see we went to get one though, as much as Leah has some great skills in the half court she get the ball stolen from her WAY to often, Schulte coming back for one more season is huge but we needed to shore up that back court for sure.

Amelia looks like the real deal, going to guess she's going to do her best to fill the Elle Evans role at the 3 spot. With her & Graham there and Abby K able to work in at the 3 as well Jory is building back depth nicely.

So Molly was the ‘player to be named later’ after we traded Boden to ISU? Modern college athletics is so confusing.

Transfer from Wisconsin - younger brother Zach has signed to play football at NDSU. Only played a few minutes all season for the Badgers. Looks like the 6’ 4” Vanderpool has 2 seasons of eligibility - from Byron MN originally.

Some much needed big depth, will allow Draper and Simon to play a little more physically and have to worry a little less about foul trouble. Jory filling another need.

Also offers out to 2027 prospects Maryn Franken @MarynFranken, Melina Snoozy (@MelinaSnoozy1) (fantastic name) and also Jordan Christofferson (@GoGoChristo) out of Horace. I still gotta do some research on the first two but I actually coached Jordan's older sister as she was my daughter's age. Super athletic family, mom played basketball at UND so fighting an uphill battle in that one for sure.

I don't know that we will be able to land a single one of these girls as there's a solid chance they all get high major attention by time they reach their Junior/Senior years but love that Jory is trying anyway and pursuing the best players in the region and who knows, some of these girls may just love him as a coach or NDSU as a school and maybe we snag an early commitment or two like we did with a few other players on our roster and get lucky. I've been begging for this kind of strategy on the men's side for years but Dave seems unwilling to even attempt to chase the best prospects in the reason just assuming he'll lose out. As Michael Scott once said, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

has picked up another portal addition. Lily Niebuhr, a Chaska Minnesota native, spent the last three years at Indiana St. 6’3” forward played in 55 games for the Sycamores provides some added depth to the Bison frontcourt.

I'm curious to learn a little about her, she played 52 games her freshman and sophomore seasons and then only 3 last year, I'm guessing due to injury because the team was terrible so can't imagine she wouldn't have gotten playing time if healthy.

South Prairie standout Rylee Routledge gets an offer from #NDSU.

Routledge was a second-team all-state selection for the Royals, who finished third in Class A this year.

2027 is loaded with ND talent.
