At my employer, there are 2(including yours truly) out of probably 20 or so.
If you go to Bdubs on a Saturday to watch football, there is usually a fair amount. If you go to the mall, you'll see people wearing NDSU stuff. Significant minority, definitely. Unicorn? Nope.

The brightness of NDSU's awesome color scheme and success must be burning the misery that resides in deep depth of their dark souls. Maybe they shouldn't have hid their true team color, pink.

Besides our total radio coverage is freaking amazing. There isn't an inch of the state you can pick up a Bison game.
Despite this, online media is the future
You can't really compare the power of an FM vs AM station, that is apples to oranges. AM will travel farther on less power than FM, especially a lower number AM. KFYR 550 from Bismarck can hit multiple states with 5KW of power, which an FM at 100KW can't come close to. 107.9 will be less coverage area than KFGO/KVOX could provide.
But your other point about the whole radio network is the more important one. With stations like KSJB and KFYR/KXMR carrying NDSU games with smaller stations filling in certain corners of the state, you have very good coverage statewide regardless of the actual Fargo station.

I know the difference between AM and FM but The Fox comes in great all throughout the area though. I can pick it up pretty far south and even some of the lakes area.

I was pulling in WNAX 570 AM out of Yankton yesterday by Binford clear as a bell. Nuts how far those stations go.

It's because AM signals bounce off the ionosphere and FM signals keep going through, FM is basically line of sight.

The phenomenon has been known to generate a whistling noise within the sphere but it is completely inaudible anywhere else.

Will there be a podcast of these shows? Or any audio streams?
