I think he meant that it's not good to lose someone to Northern Illinois.

I think he meant that it's not good to lose someone to Northern Illinois.
According to Kolpack in the Bison Media Blog, we got another d lineman from a California JC and a offensive lienman from Michigan.
How can a guy with the name Xerxes not be a stud?
sorry for the confusion....I am just pissed we lost him to Northern Illiniois. Arrogantly, I just don't like losing kids to other 1AA schools. Sounds like a later offer came in and he changed. Something about them building a retractable roof or something........
Isn't Northern Illinois IA?
Okay, did we lose Lawson to UNI(I-AA University of Northern Iowa of the MVC/Gateway) or NIU(I-A Northern Illinois University of the MAC)?
wow, this lineman is a 2 star kid out of Michigan. Rivals has him at 6'2 and 287. He looks LARGE based on his photo. Not much info on him out there. Teammate of the other recent verbal from Michigan. You can never have enough beef. Love this signing.
Carlin Landingham is his name.
Northern Ill.
Small correction. N. Illinois is in the MAC and is a 1A school. This is better than losing him to another Gateway school.
My fault again, it appears I am doing my best to confuse myself and others....I was trying to help and confused everyone. Long story short, it sucks we lost him to anyone....but this lineman from Michigan looks fantastic. Plus, I love that he is joining his team mate to come to Fargo. I hope they love it.
Xerxes Griffin, 6'2 290 on Rivals. Not much else on him that I could find.
All of the suspense, if there is any left, will be cleared up within 24 hours.
There is always spring ball which will be starting up next month.
From Kolpack(BMB):

It appears this is what will roll through the fax machine tomorrow at the BSA. Pleasant surprise with late addition of Landingham from Michigan -- very strong prep credentials such as being named to the Detroit Free Press "All State Dream Team Offense." He's a teammate of Bobby Miller at Muskegon, so I imagine that had some impact on his decision. Muskegon has a great program winning the D-II state championship last year.
Bohl said NDSU hit the southern California JC's hard and I wasn't sure what he meant. He must have meant Griffin, who was eighth on his team in tackles with 25, but tied for the team lead in tackles for lost yardage with 5.5. He also led the team with three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. The kid must be able to hit.
We'll see what tomorrow will bring:

Great Fcs Class! ! I Still Cant Believe We Didnt Pull Even ONE of 7 kids that left Uminnesota. ! Or Any Fbs Transfers . . . . I.d Like To See 1 Or 2 Kids That Would Walk In And Play Or Even Start, , Arent We At That Spot Now Where We Could Pull A Star On Signing Day That Could Start Here At NDSU, instead of redshirting at minn, iowa, wisc? ?
Some info from ESPN on the new OL commit from Michigan...
Carlin Landingham
OG | 6'2" 287
Hometown: Muskegon, MI
School: Muskegon High School
Region: MidWest
Scouts Grade: 68(solid prospect)
Position Rank: OG #120(#3 in MI)
Evaluation: Landingham plays offensive tackle in high school, but will need to slide inside and play guard at the college level. He is a solid run blocker. He makes adequate initial contact and can deliver a pop. He gets adequate hand placement, but needs to work on being more consistent in this area. He can generate some push, but is not a dominating drive blocker. Landingham does not seem to generate much power from his lower body and needs to work on bringing his hips and keeping his feet under him. He will get overextended and can struggle to maintain his block. He needs to work on staying on his feet as he is on the ground more than you would like your lineman to be. He does a solid job of working up to the second level and getting a piece of moving targets. He will flash the ability to shadow a rusher in the short area. He needs to be sure to play with knee bend and keep his feet moving. Landingham is a solid prospect. He has adequate size and needs to keep improving his game as he develops.
WHAT DO WE NEED? Not much. The 2 Juco's DT's fill a hole so we don't have to lean on young guys. We need a backup QB. Maybe a burner at wideout. Seriously this team is way better than last year. We return pretty much the entire coaching staff too.
QB- Mertens is the man for 2 years. Immediate backup is a question mark. It would be nice getting someone as a plan B.
RB- Loaded with Roehl, Paschall, Blincoe, Voightlander, and DJ McNorton.
TE- Loaded with Wurzbacher, The God Of Thunder Thor Brown, Landon Smith, the 6'7'' Veldman.
WR- Loaded. Both starters return in Heckendorf and Belquist. Shultenover showed big play ability torward he end of the season. Shamen is a situational wideout. Then we got the 2 guys from Texas, Williams and Holloway. It would be cool finding a BURNER who can be used occassionaly.
OL- Losing LT Safe and LG Lekang are tough but this is a deep team. We're returning our Center, Right Guard, and Right Tackler. We've got 11 guys to replace the left side and that includes a Backowski, a transfer late last year from The University of Colorado. I'm confident our line will be solid.
Defense
DE - Loaded with the return of starters Lardinois and Compton plus 6 guys behind them.
DT - Mike Fairbairn is the most experienced guy and should be the leader of the group. Seemed to be thin and young until we got 2 JUCO's from California to solidify the line. We have some talented young guys but it looks like Bohl wants a plan B in case they aren't ready. Guys like Matt Gratzek, Matt Philips could play a huge role next year.
Linebacker - Loaded. Despite losing Mays, this is a tremendous unit with starters Marsh and Humber returning. Tyler Henry will take over for Mays at the mike. Young guys like Matt Anderson are good enough to start but we're just too deep. Same goes for Kittleson, Senger, and Beson.
Corners - Loaded. We go 6 deep and 4 have started. 2 are young up and comers. We're getting back Courtney Mitchel and Richard Bowman who missed last year. We're returning Nate Agbetola. John Richardson played well as a JUCO last year who ended up staring. THen youo got Colvin and Banks.
Safety - Return our 2 starters in Belmont and Schoemer. Lots of depth.
Kicker - Bibeau rocks
Punter - Impossible to replace. Hopefully we won't need to punt much.
Most important day of the year for Bison football?
Looking at the Forum article this morning, it looks like we have a really talented recruiting class.
http://www.bisonzone.com/index.cfm?p...full&id=190936
Please note, I don't go to Web sites like Rivals, but from what Coach Bohl and his staff has done in the past, I expect these recruits to be very salty. It takes time to see what we have and I think that is the fun part.
I think so. Even Grand Forks is covering the Bison.

Where is the best place to be looking for the "official list"? I remember last year I first saw it on Gobison.com at about 3:30 in the afternoon. Anyone else know of any other offical sites where it may appear first?
I'm pretty sure 740 said there are going to have the press conference live at 2:00PM
You can also listen via the website at:

My kids don't believe me that today is my birthday and Christmas!!!!
Can any of you here that Can ya, Can ya. I hear a the ground a pounden and the earth a shakin. The newest members of the HERD are on their way today!!!!!!!!
It looks to be a good well rounded class. I am very happy with a few JUCO's for next year. They sound like they can get the job done. The new offensive lineman was a surprise hopefully he molds into a great recruit and follows another powerlifters path!
I to am concerned at QB but it is what it is. Mertens will get the job done I just hope he don't get hurt as his backups concern me a little!!
No, sorry that's not it. It's because the school that cannot be named, or get a meeting with the tribes for that matter, has better TV ratings, more requests for newspaper coverage and stories, better radio listenership, a far superior recruiting class, all around better athletes, a hockey coach that thinks you're number one, a presidential candidate that won't commit and they are going Division 1 don'tcha know.;)
If you listen to Hammers show, you would think UND is in the Big 10 with all of their coverage. I guess that is what happens when you have the voice of the Sioux covering them from Fargo.
