I do believe that some coach's would have been happy with his season last year. Middle of the pack. He isnt that type of coach.

He mentioned it on the radio the other day that some of the issues they had were with fit, I think he was chasing talent just to get the program headed in the right direction and then came to realize he not only needs talent but talent that fits his coaching style and has settled into what that is. Really looking forward to where this program is headed.
Early Signing Day - Bison sign 4 players today
https://gobison.com/news/2022/11/9/w...gning-day.aspx
So we have 14 on the roster now. 4 more coming in 2023
15 is full roster
T Brown is probably 1 and done
H Hamling I believe is staying another year to play with little sister.
So 2 players won’t be back that are on current roster???
I'm gonna guess some of these players are on a 5 for 4 deal where they will redshirt and pay for one year of their own school and have 4 scholarship years. Hamling I think will be on a Covid exemption but not sure how those all work to be honest. Taylor Brown is a grad transfer so yes, she will be done after this year. Also may be some attrition, with the new additions I don't see Rachel Novak or Sophie Olson getting much playing time going forward so they may move on but that's just purely speculation.
What's the staff waiting on offering Maggie Fricke out of Minot?
Don’t know why Dom didn’t mention this

I like what JC did with the roster here in making room for next years class. I think I’m correct in saying EBehnke was the very last of the MWalseth girls. I’m sure there were some tough decisions to make with the roster and all the eligibility gained on Covid. It will be interesting to see if the redshirt girls can contribute next year.
They will have a full roster of 15 next season but I’m guessing someone will transfer out to get down to 14. I’ve heard JC say you at the most want 14 in case you have an in season emergency transfer.
With senior day one thing I didn't realize is that Novak was a walk-on, she wasn't a scholarship player. I could see Sophie Olson moving on, she doesn't play now, she definitely won't play next year, can't image grinding through a season and never seeing the floor is a ton of fun. I missed the interview but I heard today that Jory said on Hot Mic w/ Izzo that Behnke is having off season back surgery. Assuming that may have played into her not coming back for her senior season as much as everything else.
Wayzata Commit Abby K plays at Moorhead tonight 730pm if anyone wants to go see her play.

Surprised NDSU hasn't offerred Parker Yaggie Breckenridge yet. She's a legacy obviously, but she's a freshman averaging 18ppg & top 5 ranked in her class in Minnesota (they have another freshman that's good too)
All 4 of our recruits coming in have been having big seasons. Losing Behnke stinks but if Bedziri is at least as good as Behnke is coming off her redshirt year we'll be just fine with the talent we have coming in. I know Jory is very high on PG Leah McKenzie who didn't get to play this year due to injury as well, we should take another step forward in overall team quality again next year.

Would guess Logan Nissley, Bismarck Century is the easy favorite for the award (big time recruit to Nebraska)

Kaitlyn Rohloff Hancock MN sophomore
NDSU better offer her before Sdsu finds her.
sophomore can't miss a 3. all stater
underwood mn Liz lukken Jr guard too
Logan shouldn’t have won it this year as she missed the last third of the season. If anything her teammate Kinnebrew should have gotten it over her as she has had a better year.

Lauren Ware formerly of Bismarck just entered the portal from Arizona. Probably out of our reach but I guess u never know.
She'd be an awesome get but I don't believe we have a scholarship to even offer, as of right now we have 11 players returning and 4 coming in so not sure how the scholarships are going to work to begin with. I'm assuming Sophie Olson will not be on scholarship going forward if she even is now but not sure who else won't be.
By doing what? Kicking a player off the team that committed to you? This isn't the NFL, you don't just release people to sign others, good luck signing any recruits in the future if they know your program will just boot you off the team if they find someone better in the portal. Your bullshit about magically finding scholarships is not how college athletics works. Now if you have players that aren't a fit and are ready to move on like we had last year that's one thing but no players have hit the portal this year this team is now bought into Jory and his vision and that's more important than any one player.

Bison offer Freshman guard out of NDSCS. Was All-Conference, All-Region and 3rd team All-American as a true freshman last season. Really good, strong defender, solid offensively averaged 15ppg and 9rbg. I'm not sure where the scholarship will come from but I think she'd be a really solid addition.
As far as the scholarship goes, I did not see Georgia Baldwin at the season ticket holder event or in the team photo for the NDSU Awards banquet and it appears NDSU WBB has been removed from her IG profile when I got suspicious and checked so she may be out and this may be where the scholarship is coming from but that's purely speculation.
Katie Hildebrandt is listed in transfer portal.

This would explain the extra scholarship, I'm not surprised, fairly evident she just didn't quite have the skill for the level Jory wants to build to and I think the incoming class was going to take the remaining minutes she had left. She got beat out by KEY about 1/3 of the way through the season.

One day after offering Minot standout Maggie Fricke, CMU offers Horace 6'2" standout Jaiden Haile. Haile just wrapped up a stellar sophomore season averaging 14.9 ppg and EDC-best 14.6 rpg. NDSU, UND and St. Thomas have already offered. #NDpreps
Former Bison Brenda Slyt has a daughter, Peyton Hoffman, that plays for Climax-Fisher. She is a versatile 6 footer that scored 600+ points last season as a 7th grader. I heard some coaches visiting one day that she was getting looks from SDSU. So I assume she's on everyone's radar at this point.
