In another notable pairing, the legendary Dame Laura Davies and Karrie Webb sadly also fell before the weekend started. Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden did advance from that pairing, and leads the event so far.

In Amy's case, 36 putts wasn't going to get it done.

On a quick perusal dufferole, the leaders appear to be averaging 28 or 29 putts to Amy’s 34 per round. That is a 10 to 12 stroke spot over two rounds and nobody can overcome that kind of a handicap. Hopefully just a blip on the radar as her season gets rolling.
The rest of her stats look very good, including excellent ball striking and GIR better than that of the leader!

Pure. Definitely a swing to emulate!:

You can measure it any way you want, she still takes too many putts.

Amy goes out early in the Australian Open with recent winner Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden and fellow American Marina Alex. Stands to be an excellent pairing!
The grouping right before Amy's tee time is also outstanding! I am going out on a limb and predict that 5/6 of these players make the cut!

Amy is T3 at -3 making the turn one off the lead. Evidently that silky, sweet swing is clicking in Aussieland so far.

Amy just tied for the lead in the Australian Open at -5. Playing partner Marina Alex is one back at -4 and Madelene Sagstrom finishes out that group currently at -3!
Looking for a great finish today and watching this dufferole!

Round 2 lets get it!

Inbee has the lead in the clubhouse for the time being SlickVic. Like El_Chapo said, here’s to back to back great rounds for Amy as well!

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
Amy finished her round at 1 under par. Her g/r was down at 12 of 18 but she putted 29 times, probably indicating good scrambling. 6 under for the tourney. Good show.

Moving day pairings are out. Amy goes out with Australian Hannah Green, and hopefully she presses for lots of low numbers as she trusts that sweet swing! GoAmy..GoHannah..GoBison!!

I just got done watching the 2nd round and Amy was on quite a few times.

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
Amy is currently T9 and -8 with her third round in the books. Her scorecard looked like she was a bit more aggressive today at least through the first ten holes. Here’s to a great finish tomorrow with lots of birdies and more, and something to hang her 2020 hopes on and build on as she goes into another month layoff before her next event in Phoenix.

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
shot -2 round 3
in 9th place. 2 shots away from 2nd
Imbee Park like 5 shots ahead in 1st place
Amy's sitting pretty for a top 10... but top 5 would like nice

Final round pairings all set El_Chapo, and Amy has a nice draw with the talented and classy Pornanon Phatlum of Thailand. Here is to them both leapfrogging up the board even further while playing aggressively wherever that will pay off on money day!
Not likely anybody is gonna catch Inbee, but a lot of money at stake for all those chasing her tomorrow. No doubt Amy would love to share a substantial prize money check with Taneka Sandiford this week as well!

She took 27 putts but was 11/18 in greens in regulation. Must have scrambled well again. Good round for Amy.

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
Amy has just a hole to play. Looks like a third or fourth place showing coming up and best showing for American players. She may have kicked it into a more conservative mode in the finishing portion, but can’t really blame her for that.

Amy finishes -11, currently tied for second, two strokes ahead of 4th right now. Should get her a top 3 finish. Great weekend for her!

Indeed! And the other player in second is faltering so maybe solo second in order? Those three lurking at T4 remain a concern though!

Split of second good for about $104k. $121k for second alone.

Looks like Inbee will hold. Was wondering there for a bit if she might come back to the rest of the field and do for Amy what Amy did for Angela Stanford in the Evian. (Wouldn’t really have been the same as this was a non major small purse event though). Congrats to her as she is as tough as SlickVic says she is.

Looking forward to your final recap dufferole! How ’bout them Olsons of NDSU?!?
Amy needed this one and played it in the wind and challenging conditions against an all world field like the overall great player that she is becoming!

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
Whoo hoo! 2nd place earning 118,382.00. 29 putts and 14/18 In greens in regulation. Now I have to finish watching.

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
Awesome job.
very irritated with Fox Sports Asia as there has been no LPGA broadcasts here so far this season. Last year this was the first tournament they aired and then carried everything through the fall swing. This season nothing until at least Phoenix.

Re: Amy Olson 2020 LPGA Season
The Golf Channel coverage was frustrating as well. They didn’t cover a lot considering her position in the tournament. Clearly not catering to an American audience which is understandable given the current status of women’s golf being dominated by Asian players and the time of the coverage. But they did cover American Marina Alex what seemed like 2 to 3 times more than Amy for the two hours I watched. I don’t follow women’s golf closely outside of Amy and know nothing about Marina, is she the leading American woman golfer now?
Congratulations on a great tournament Amy!!

Looks like Alex started the day 3 strokes ahead of Amy so I’m guessing she was in the final group with Park so that’s going to be a featured group for sure. Alex isn’t a big name but she has a win and played well in the last Solheim Cup.

The old cliche is that hindsight is 2020 PuckNut. Here is to 2020 being an especially wonderful and memorable year for Bison athletics and athletes, both current and former! It certainly has shown some nice glimpses of that so far! Hear hear!!
