Former Bison footballer Andy DelaBarre is Head Coach there for football, perhaps this is his daughter?Quote:
…… LaMoure-Litchville-Marion senior Norah DelaBarre left the throwing circle in shock late Friday morning.
DelaBarre heaved a 151-10 in the girls discus to set a new Class B state record in the event and capture a state title in the process.
“I can’t believe it,” DelaBarre said of her new accolade. “I remember talking about it last year about how crazy that throw was, the former state record. I can’t believe I’ve got it now.”…..
Wonder if Norah DelaBarre will be a Bison?
Kindred triple jumper Presley Peraza wins his event at 44’ 8 1/2”.
Saw where he decommited from Minot State when their Head Coach left (Jackrabbit assistant?).
He was a standout basketball player also, iirc he was going to play both sports at Minot. Wonder where he will end up? Would Bison track get involved for the 6’ 6” multi sport athlete? Has gone 22’ 11” in the long jump and had highlight reel dunks in basketball.
Bowman County’s Taylor Wanner won the boys 800-meter race with a Class B record time of 1:52.90. Wanner will join the NDSU track team next fall.
“It feels great to come here and just get the opportunity to accomplish my goals,” said Wanner, who was named the boys Class B Senior Athlete of the Year.

Kate Laqua sweeps hurdles again
Fargo Davies’ Kate Laqua will head to North Dakota State next season as a seven-time North Dakota high school track and field state champion after sweeping Saturday’s Class A girls hurdles finals for the second year in a row.
Laqua first won the 300-meter race with a season-best 43.62 seconds, finishing right in front of Grand Forks Red River senior Sophie Brakke whose personal-best 45.06 was good for second place.
In the 100 final, Laqua’s 14.38 was enough to beat out Jamestown senior Julia Skari who clocked a runner-up time of 14.76.

Trey Knoke repeats in 110 hurdles
Fargo North also produced a hurdles champion for the second year in a row after senior Trey Knoke claimed the Class A boys 110-meter final again.
Knoke, also a future Bison, clocked a winning time of 14.43 seconds to narrowly defeat Bismarck Legacy junior Bennet Lonn, who won the 300 final earlier in the day. Lonn finished runner-up with a 14.46.
Wren James redeems herself with triple jump title
Fargo South’s Axumite Wren James was left wondering what she could have done differently on Thursday after Bismarck’s Jordyn Rood denied her a repeat win in the Class A girls high jump.
So the NDSU-bound senior decided to pull an upset in Saturday’s triple jump competition instead.
Despite having the No. 9 seed mark of 35 feet, 6.25 inches entering the weekend, James pulled a season-best 37-0.5 out of her fifth attempt to become a two-time individual event champion.
NDSU better recruit Lyla Stegman of West Fargo for javelin. I think she might already be a bit of a Bison fan.
