I think we should all hold Wentz down and make him take it. We are becoming a LAUGHINGSTOCK!

Previous to Delta, vaccines did block the spread. Even with Delta, they block some of the spread. What you are talking about is a breakthrough case, in those cases, viral loads are the same (according to one study, we frankly need much more data). The vaccines are 50-70% good against Delta so that is the amount of transmission stopping.
Spread can be stopped with nasal vaccines that give local immunity in the case of a respiratory virus (they will also come if big pharma allows it). What is more important is even with the current vaccines if almost all adults were vaccinated the R0 would fall well below 1 and stop the spread in a majority of cases. Breakthrough infections come from high viral loads from infected people running around, if there were a lot less sick running around, there would be much less breakthrough.

I am very well read on this topic and not from Facebook or CNN or Fox News or whatever political forum you want. I am actual not anti-vax, just saying that if he already had covid (which I don't know if he has) then getting the vaccine to stop against the Delta is really not all that beneficial. Go read the science out of Israel directly. It is all there.

I used to work weekend overnights at KFGO. There was a dude who called every night asking for Conway Twitty. Blamed being up on his prostate and having to relieve himself. I didn't need that information to play the song but he volunteered it.

So, just for fun I wiki'ed Mr. Twitty. Turns out his name was actually Harold Lloyd Jenkins. I can't imagine a guy named Harry singing "Tight Fitting Jeans".

Conclusions This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.

Nah, bro. That'd be wrong. Instead he should just be fired and not allowed to enter private businesses until he complies.

I'm not holding anyone down, that's all you. But it is bad look for NDSU. I hope he changes his mind, I don't want him to get Cam Newton'd. He got released from the Patriots today. Took him a whole season to be back to normal after covid.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Speaking of totally owned...
After my dad passed away several years ago, I came into possession of his old console stereo, complete with a turn table and an 8-track player as well as about 100 albums and 80 cartridges of the likes of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, George Jones, some awful K-tel albums from some hot singers from 80's TV ads that my dad thought was cute, Dolly Pardon, and Conway Twitty. I got everything out at the beginning of the pandemic and we've slowly been listening to everything and thinking about my dad, which has been awesome. Anyway, my daughter has just become fascinated with the Conway Twitty stuff. She's 17 now and I finally asked her why, specifically, she likes the Twitty so much. Her response is that the music is just such a perfect blend of cheeseball and creepy that it makes her laugh.
Now it makes me laugh.

Carson is a big guy. I’d rather not do it alone- nobody wants us and NDSU to be the laughingstock here. But apparently i’m the only one who REALLY wants to stop covid and covid variants…
Sure you talk tough, and post relevant, peer reviewed science. But we all know what that science means. And what NEEDS to be done.
Look what happened to Cam Newton all because of Covid. Heck Wentz had a down year also. Covid?? Maybe. And now they are all laughing at us.
Get the syringe ready…

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Does anyone really think Cam was released over a vaccine? Jones was out playing him and Cam was/is adamant about not being a backup. Releasing him was in his best interest.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
As I type this I am in bed recovering with covid. I was really careful and got it anyway. I think I know when I got the virus, and let me tell you it did not take much contact to get it.
I can't tell you how glad I am that I am fully vaccinated. This has really sucked but I am going to be okay. I've never had anything like this, but the severity is something on the level of a mid-range flu or a really bad cold. Not the sickest I have ever been, but top 3 or 4. But nothing even in the vicinity of being life-threatening.
Carson Wentz's decision to not get vaccinated is just stupid. I'm not going to be diplomatic on this issue anymore. The medical establishment is remarkably united on this issue, and pseudo-intellectual would-be philosophers like Wentz trying to figure it out and concluding that he knows better than the medical establishment do more than endanger themselves. Here he is hurting his team as well. I suppose you have a right to not get this shot if you don't want it, but private actors have the right to shun, fire, and restrict you, and they should.

I know what you mean. We are fully vaccinated and managed to get the virus and I guess we should have been more adamant about wearing our masks in public places. I didn't get too sick, but my wife missed 3 days of work and we both aren't fully recovered after more than 10 days.

Think how much better things will be when Carsen and others like him are vaccinated like you?

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
So if people are getting it while vaccinated how is Carson putting the vaccinated at risk by not being vaccinated if he could spread it while vaccinated?

This is from his rock and roll years. Kind of reminds me of Val Kilmer playing Nick Rivers in Top Secret.

Stop being ridiculous. He would be putting the vaccinated a minute amount less at risk. And once EVERYONE is vaccinated things go great- there are PEER REVIEWED studies that support this.
Unfortunately until all NFL Quarterbacks are vaccinated it will actually be worse than it was before the vaccine because the vaccinated quit wearing their masks.
Got that?

Conway Twitty, George Jones and Merle Haggard the same night at the Metra in Billings. By far the best concert I ever attended!!

Doesn't matter it's the NFL Policy. But overall, 3% of all hospitalizations are from vaccinated people. The vaccine is roughly 60-80% effective but wears off after 6 months. So if you got it back in February or March, it's going to start losing it's effectiveness.
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Did you know that Conway Twitty was in a few movies? Here's one where he played himself. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054298...=nm_flmg_act_2
-
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
It matters if the policy was crafted around the idea that the vaccine would stop infections and spread.
As opposed to just being another flu shot.

So do vaccinated people count as “vaccinated” for these hospitalizations stats if they have been vaccinated? Or is that only after 14 days after their second injection?
When is a person “vaccinated” anymore anyway? Well its been 5 months- put your mask back on.

First, you are less likely to get the virus if you are vaccinated, and if you get it you can spread it. Second, it has been shown that even if you get the virus you are less likely to spread it if you are vaccinated. Third, the more people who get this virus, the greater the chances are that it will mutate even further. It is entirely possible that it will mutate into something even more dangerous and less vulnerable to vaccines. Fourth, Carson is hurting his team because now every time he comes into contact with a Covid-positive person he will need to take a break from football.

What if he's already had covid? Guessing a lot of these non-vaxers have already had the shit to begin with and don't see the need. Maybe they should change their policies to include people who have already had covid so they stop looking like hypocrites.

I have no problem with that as long as they don’t assume they have antibodies and get tested for them first.
He does have a pregnant wife at home so I hope he takes precautions. Any illness when pregnant sucks.
