That said there is a lot of blame for Carson.
- Didn't get vaxxed when he had the chance
- Is probably playing with an active covid infection
- Has looked poor for the last 3-4 weeks
- Mechanics are a mess again
That does not shift blame from the rest of the team that gave up 20+ points to the worst team in the NFL. Colts are like a nicer eagles team from last year with a very good RB. The line is shit, RB outside Taylor are poor, WR's are probably among the worst in the league. Not only that Frank had 2 really bad games with the play calling. Many players coming off covid are weak and out of practice.
Yeah I find it weird because the first half of the year, and I may be mis-remembering this, they seemed to spread the ball around and have some quick routes to get a passing game going. Then they found out they had JT and it seemed the offense fell apart aside from running the ball. Every pass play seemed slow developing and aimed at going 30 yards down field.
Sure maybe Carson was waiting for that long play but it seemed like he was throwing plenty of quick 5-10 yard routes to start the year

There is a chance Wentz might get cut if Indy can get Wilson or Rodgers. Even Jimmy, or Kirk might be in play.

The days of Wentz being a starting QB might be coming close to an end. At most, I see that he has next year. Otherwise, he will be a high-end backup.

Doubtful. He’s a top 15 QB

Did you read the article or just the headline?
Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wentz will be with Reich. If by some crazy reason they release Wentz there'd be 5-6 teams racing to sign him because there are at least 10 teams that need a QB there was some.really bad qbs this year playing

With a 28 million dollar cap hit or 15 million in dead cap, the chance of him being cut is zero. But 2023 is the soonest they could do anything. By that time, he will have made 128 million in his career just in salary and he will be 30
If he is mediocre next year, he will be cut. If they bring in another veteran, it will take up so much cap space they won't be able to do anything. A likely scenario is they draft a QB and if he comes along, he's the future. But if he doesn't, anything is on the table for 2023
Next year is huge for him. He's either going to blow up and have a great year or have a mediocre year and get cut and be a backup, which in the grand scheme of things aint a big deal. Backup QB is the best job in the world. Nobody is trying to kill you every play and you get paid a few million to play once in a while.
Also QB is a weird position. Some players actually get better the older and slower they get. Think about how many nearly 40 year old QB's there are in the NFL

Carson was pretty bad the last couple games. So was the entire team. Non of the Colts pro bowlers showed up in Jacksonville either. His stats this season are very comparable to Rivers last year. Rivers had a higher completion percentage and more yards but he also had more int's and fewer TD's too. Carson needs to work on his accuracy and decision making more than anything. Get the ball out faster, take fewer sacks, protect the ball in the pocket and hit the easy throws that he seems to miss on badly. He's got one more year in Indy to earn his next deal, if he doesn't improve he'll probably be cut. If he doesn't get a starting offer I wouldn't be shocked if he retired. He's made plenty of money and he's said he doesn't want to be a backup.
One thing I'll say to the posters that love to come on here and say he's just an average NFL QB, that's probably very true but do you realize that's still pretty damn great. There's only 32 starting NFL QB's.

The whole team sucked. This shouldnt be about him.
