Re: UND post-game thoughts.
Neither one of us can answer your first question. I don't hold my breathe either when CJ is back there. I am just saying when he gets hurt and misses another game that means something you better not be on here bitching about why was he back there in first place. Big picture my friend big picture

I know, what were those UND fans thinking by not cheering for us.

Marcus Williams, Ryan Smith, Sam Ojuri, John Crockett and many other starters have returned kicks/punts in their time at NDSU. It's the nature of this level. The big picture would show that the pros out weigh the cons.
Re: UND post-game thoughts.
Still think Shepherd should get another shot, unless of course, he has been botching them in practice

Not saying he shouldn't. Just don't be surprised when key starters play on special teams.

Won't be, I'm expecting CJ. That would be fine, he's had some nice returns in addition to good fielding
Re: UND post-game thoughts.
My thoughts ...
a. Bison played very well overall.
b. Could have held UND to close to 0 yards if they had a reason to be inspired the second half.
c. I thought UND would have a stronger running game.
d. NDSU running game - wasn't tested in this game, but it will probably have to step it up from here on out.
e. Grand Forks Herald writers and the UND coach all said this game should be played every year. Boy I hope not. We only get three out-of-conference games each year, sure would NOT want one-third to be for UND every year - it would be a waste, a huge opportunity cost for NDSU - much more interesting to keep schools on the schedule from other parts of US. One GFH writer said the game should be played every year so UND can gauge its progress - might be a good reason for UND, but if the game is worth something, there has to be something in it for both schools. Besides, if UND wants to play NDSU every year, why did they join the Big Sky Conference. However, even if UND becomes a perennial playoff team - not worth making this a renewed rivalry.
f. NDSU's biggest rivals now are Sam Houston State, South Dakota State, UNI, and depending how Illinois State does this year, it might include them. They are good rivalries.
Re: UND post-game thoughts.
Matt Larson has said that the Bison want 6 home games every year (yes!!) and an FBS game if possible.
IMO, this game will not be every year. 12 game seasons and if they want to come to Fargo. No way should the Bison go up there and sacrifice a home game....NO WAY!

I was very happy to hear Larson say that. Pretty clear he meant we will play UN_ only if works out for us and they want to come here. He said all things I wanted to hear, such as FBS game and 6 home games. So, Sundogs ain't coming here very often, if ever after 2019
Re: UND post-game thoughts.
I am glad this circus is over and I am very impressed our fans did act professionally like I hoped they would. I thought the video guys did a great job putting an emphasis on ND being Bison Nation and the dome being our house. I thought the tone was set very early this was business as usual in the Fargodome and if you want to be here, you are going to get destroyed. We joked with a couple of un_ fans wearing hockey jerseys, but their fans were giving them a hard time too. It was a fun game but I didn't feel it was anything special and feel kind of cheated we didn't get to see someone from outside the big fluffy in the OOC part of the schedule. Now we are down to the part of the season that really matters and every game is for keeps.
