Biggest win in his coaching career, since he never beat NDSU…

Cignetti stole* from his employer on his way out the door just like Jimmie did.
*figuratively

In that fourth quarter I thought he was playing the jack rabbits the way his team was picking off the ball.

Based on the history of the IU program, what he's doing is amazing. They've had decent seasons over the years where they win 8-10 games. This was the first time they've beaten a top 5 team on the road. Cignetti has to be a big reason for it. Recruiting and game planning are both a huge reason. I bet IU does what it can to keep him. He's older so not sure how heavily recruited he would be for other schools.

I gather that the university and boosters have stepped up support as well. I wish the gophers could find some of that sauce.

Yep. I think it's really only possible in portal era. Kudos to him for embracing that formula. His age makes me think this is his last job.
Curious how good Oregon is. Their big win was Penn State and they fired Franklin today lol

Death, Taxes, and Oregon & Notre Dame overrated every year.
Re: College Football FBS/FCS discussion thread
49 million dollar buyout for James Franklin. I know Penn State has really shit the bed this year. But I don’t see Penn St doing much better anytime soon with a new coach.

That UCLA loss fucked me in the P5 survivor pool so he gets no sympathy from me…

They had already done a nice job investing in the facility. It's not Michigan or Ohio State level, but it's very nice. They have very deep pockets, and it was always assumed they had money if they wanted to be good at football. They've had sniffs of success but never sustainable. With Cingetti in his mid-60s, we'll see how long he wants to do this. And if he does would he jump to another program. Hard to say.
