A new and better FBS thread

It is pretty interesting to hear people talk about all these budget issues about going FBS. Go look at Sammy or Tarleton’s budgets. $10M less than ours and over 75% of each comes from student fees and institutional support.

Both with less than 10% of the ticket sales revenue of NDSU.

And yet here we are. What does that tell you? It tells me that our administration has not attempted to show our value to anyone. They are reactive not proactive. Reactive=fired.

If NDSU couldn’t afford FBS, why wouldn’t they just come out and say it? Great fundraising opportunity and it would force people to put away the pitchforks.

At the end of the day NDSU needs to get its student fees and institutional support to be in line with its peers. We’d have a mid-MW budget year 1 if they got that figured out.

Nobody's getting fired for NDSU not moving up...in fact, the State Board will probably give Cook and Larsen raises and extensions....

Highly unlikely that students will vote to give more to athletics, and the institution is losing money every year, including this one...there's no money to add to athletics.
