Re: A new and better FBS thread
There are numbers that suggest many of the lower tier bowls have better viewership tgat the FCS championship game. I wonder what would happen if the NCAA simply made our game a "bowl"? Sell a sponsorship, which would likely get ESPN to advertise a bit more...

I can see it now--The Peterson Farms Seed Bowl.

You might be onto something but espn's idea is you are supposed to move up when you get to where we are and then there will be bowl games.

Honestly that was one of the bowls that crossed my mind. Although it was in front of a relatively empty stadium, I think it had some pretty good ratings. Plus lets be honest, a good portion of people watching those games are just looking for a game to watch. Many of them have very little idea nor care if those teams are FBS or FCS.
Re: A new and better FBS thread
ok Naysayers, putting aside your OBVIOUS BIAS AGAINST GOING FBS..... Answer me this:
HOW BIG COULD NDSU GET? seriously, tell me, I'm all ears..
NDSU could be much bigger than where we are at now, if we took the Mountain West by storm , we'd make a huge story nationally on ESPN.
Craig Thompson the commissioner graduated from the U of Minnesota, he would invite us if NDSU admin make a huge push persuading them!
Get into the MWC somehow, hell offer to pay travel vouchers, dominate that league for 4-5 years while building an on campus (practice fields) 45,000 seat stadium for $150 Million. Control all revenue from it, ads, sponsors, suites, etc. *pay fargodome for parking lots like we do now*
Find 4 big sponsors for $1 million year for 25 years.
Lets do this!
