Second 2020 recruit. Kylie Strop is the first.
Abby sounds like a solid player. Second leading scorer on a team that was not expected to make it to state. Played point and wing for a team that finished 6th at state.

12 ppg? we need scorers, its been awhile since we've had a recruit average 20ppg or more. find us a sharp shooter Jory.
Jacobson had a SDSU offer.
Irwin started for SDSU.
Stewart started for an elite 8 team.
Klabo and Freije both would have been the best player on NDSU.
Ware could probably pick the Big 10/12 school of her choice.
For a fan of a North Dakota university you certainly do shit on the their HS athletes a lot.
ESPN has her as the #4 center and #30 overall. I suppose she has a chance to be the first female McD's AA from ND.
ESPN says these are the the schools she is considering: Arizona State Sun Devils, Arizona Wildcats, Florida Lady Gators, Lsu Lady Tigers, Minnesota Golden Gophers, NC State Wolfpack, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Texas Longhorns, Iowa Hawkeyes, Oregon Ducks
The word is she wants to play volleyball and basketball. If she gets AD dispensation then really Minnesota Nebraska and maybe the Pac-10 schools are the best bet. From a basketball only perspective Oregon is a really hot team right now and Insey State is loaded to make a good run. The verdict is out on LindsayWhalen and The gophers at this time.

Not NDSU related, but is there truth to the rumor that Ware tore her ACL? Unfortunately, it seems these things end up being true.
That is the word among high school girls basketball players of which my daughter plays.
So big picture question. Do the schools that Ms. Ware had narrowed her list to. Arizona, Minnesota, Texas, Tennesee and UCLA. Do they still consider her and bring her on? Or do they move on.
If it is an ACL, she misses her senior season, but would be available at the start of Freshman year of college. Do the schools that she narrowed her list then just red shirt her for another year of rehab?
It has been interesting following her as she has wanted to play both Volleyball and Basketball in college. Don't know how that would work or if it can be done.
Wish her well nonetheless.
She did tear her ACL. The 3 schools still in contention are aware of the injury and all are still on board with the plan to play both basketball and volleyball.
usd gets Eastview mn star Cassidy Carson. ndsu not even on the radar
Kadye Fernholz SD Vball player of year. Miller SD 6 3 going to Kansas State . had BB/VB offers from sdsu usd ndsu etc

I will add this to the recruiting thread also.
NDSU signs SMU transfer Marie Olson.
https://gobison.com/news/2019/8/15/n...rie-olson.aspx
scout team will be better than starters next year with this gal & heaven!
Sounds like Marie Olson was a Minnesotan (Apple Valley?).
The NDSU article mentioned she played for North Tartan in AAU ball.

Quote:
The Olson family landed in those boundaries in August 2016 when dad Jon was relocated from Minnesota to California for his job with a utility company. The decision came as a shock to Marie, the oldest of four children.
I really think Coach Jory has this team moving forward in a great way. There will be some excitement around the team this year. Look forward to seeing the team play to their potential and get some big wins and start showing the rest of the Summit League that there are more teams in it that just SDSU and USD. They are ahead of us but I think they will be able to start to see us in their rearview mirrors soon.
Lauren Ware Update- Arizona.
Not the she ever considered local schools good to know she made a decision, going to try to play both VB and BB and all five schools kept the offers extended after she tore her ACL.
Good luck.

And a surprise 3rd signing today:
Reneya Hopkins - 5’ 7” PG - Redlands Community College
https://gobison.com/news/2019/11/13/...gning-day.aspx
Nice to see all the PG help!Quote:
From Midwest City, Okla., Hopkins earned all-conference honors as a freshman at Redlands Community College. During her rookie campaign, Hopkins averaged 14.4 points, 5.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She started 27 of the 28 games she appeared in, while also pulling down 5.2 rebounds per game for a team that went 21-10. Redlands has started the 2019-20 season 4-0, with Hopkins averaging 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 points and 2.3 steals per game, while shooting 44 percent from the field. Hopkins was an all-state and all-city selection in 2018, while also being part of a team that won the 2016 state championship. Hopkins plans to major in Kinesiology.
"Reneya will be the best athlete on our team as soon as she steps on campus," Collins said. "She will add a dimension we don't have as far as putting pressure on other teams on both ends of the floor. She also plays the game with a confidence and swagger we need an infusion of. As a point guard, she is a very good scorer at all three levels, but is also terrific at creating for other people. We are probably most excited about Reneya's ability to pressure the ball and create some havoc defensively."
In my opinion he is still missing on Amber Stevahn at BSC. She led the nation in scoring last year as a long wing in JUCO. I guess they have said they are watching her this year, but I don't think he will probably offer her even though she wants to stay local. Looks like she has played three games and is averaging 22 a game with 7 rebounds a game on 52% shooting.
I would like to see some highlights for this Stevahn gal, but none are to be found.
I think Coach Collins has done his job in recruiting. The highlights reveal a look much different than what we have been accustomed to, and that is a good thing. The future looks bright for Bison women's basketball.

There are some limited stats in this page.
[QUOTE=Tony Almeida;1382879]I would like to see some highlights for this Stevahn gal, but none are to be found.
I have seen her play at BSC against a few of the better teams in their conference and she is one of those sneaky scorers because she gets points in all sorts of different ways. All of sudden she is in the 20's. A number of us that have watched women's BB for years all believe she can play at that level so I am not the only one saying this. However, I will now stop as I don't think it will happen.
I will say when NDSU went DI this is the one program I thought would succeed right away so it looks like I was wrong about that. However, SDSU has dominated with mainly all local talent so go figure. Our 80's and 90's teams would do real well and would compete with SDSU and that is what I want back.
By the way I just talked to Amber's mom and she indicated SDSU has talked to her so I guess I am not that far off.
After seeing her play, why do you think she is not garnering the attention she deserves especially from NDSU? I've seen some stats where she is scoring over 50 pts which is just plain out sick. So what are her weaknesses in your opinion that are keeping college coaches away if indeed this is the case?
And why isn't there one damn highlight tape of her??
Good question Tony. I don't have an answer for that. She is a coaches dream as she plays all out all the time. She won the class B high jump so she has some athletic ability. She reminds me of a slightly shorter Kasey Morlock. Maybe she is borderline recruit I don't know as she is being recruited by MSU and other D2 schools as well, but coaches miss on people all the time. IE Adam Thielen is an easy example. Some kids get better each and every year and she has been one of those individuals. I guess Jory has asked her to walk on.
