This might be the best chance to go FBS, well at least for now lol. The biggest hurdle to overcome is the same it has been forever. Location and media market size. I think media market size being a bigger hurdle. I could see a scenario where the MT West tries and gets into Texas and their media markets. Rice and Texas Southern are in Houston, University of North Texas is just north of Dallas, Texas-San Antonio and even Incarnate Word are in San Antonio. I hope that we can make the case and be looked at as a potential member in f the MT West. Clearly we care about athletics, and especially football with our facilities, ahem…need to upgrade the dome, so come on MT West, do it!

That suggests to me it isn’t done yet perhaps.
And I know a lot of people would love that scenario, but there is about a 1 in a bazillion chance the PAC go that direction. They will likely look outside both MWC and FCS for additional schools. I’m thinking most likely two top AAC schools will join them initially to get to 8. That would keep PAC alive and give it a strong base to build on later if they choose.
It would be pretty irresponsible of him as an extension of the athletic dept to be tweeting any false information.

I took it as a bit of a joke to push for more money......but what do I know.

You may be right. I expect there have been conversations, and feel like things are close. But there has not been enough time for MWC to make any official decisions yet.

Lol at Eastern Washington on that map.

Head of the collective is a bit different than being employed by NDSU. His job is to “pump it up” in a way, and encourage donations to the NIL.

I will say Jay is typically pretty careful in comments that could be taken the wrong way.....which is why I started taking more seriously with reading all of you.

Go outside the conference and eventually come back to other MWC schools when the price tag is lower. UNLV and Nevada seem like obvious picks.
