I'll admit I have no idea if they are outdoor capable but I remember hearing the same boards were on Times Square

Wasn't sure where to put this, but this seems like an upgrade.

Young blood that's been involved with major colleges. AD Larsen has a vision for the future and from what I can see, it's big. Hope he sticks around for awhile and takes this university to places we can only dream about currently.
Can't they repurpose the corner boards, maybe bank two side-by-side and give use more dynamic stats boards on either side? Or all four of them together for a panoramic, or create a center hanging squared off display for stats? There has to be a way to utilize them.
They are just using them really ineffectively right now, they do nothing for the intro, and even the 50/50 display, tiny white type on a light colored background, nearly impossible to read. High contrast design when resolution isn't great.
Anyone heard when they are going to start on the new boards and if they have selected the manufacture or size of the new boards? I don't think it's going to be Daktronics. I have a buddy who works for them and I think he would have mentioned something by now if they were in the running.
Commissioner Piepkorn said on McFeely this morning that the end zone video boards will be 100 ft wide. I hope that's the case!
Just heard one of the city commissioners say the new video boards will be 30' x 100' with new HD monitors in the corners.
