Pac-12 aka Pac-2 aka 2Pac has officially lost their autonomy status. Their only realistic option is joining the MWC, possibly with some rebranding. If you'd paid any attention to this saga, holy cow the PAC is a disaster. Seriously, how does this kind of incompetence exist at this level?

The professional administrative class is corrupt and incompetent at every level. Some just have a larger range of permissible failure.

Interesting take from FCS AGS via 'caribeanhen' re UD FBS move. Props to 'Mr Chicken' … awk
"The president of UD is telling everyone a big part of this move has to do with the coming battle between all of these colleges trying to get a dwindling number of potential students into their classrooms and the population is moving south…. Mr Chicken was all over it"
I know some UD faculty and they are not at all pleased with the move, but this is probably par for the course with academics. I’ll be curious to see how it shakes out for UD., but I think it’s a good move for them

If he's right, stay away from the MAC for sure. SE and Mountain West are the place to be, particularly TX
The "battle to get a dwindling number of potential students" will be an issue for ND (more so than SD, imo ... see Canada) and I fear that some difficult decisions loom, although I doubt anyone in Bismarck wants to touch it

They’re working on it, and it’s not much of a secret if they were willing to tell me lol
MW is obviously where we fit best. Still TBD how everything shakes out with the PAC-2. There's a lot of rumblings they are still trying to rebuild and break off with a group of the "top" G5 schools from MW and possibly elsewhere. Good to hear more directly we are working that angle.

MW is the best fit IF we can make the move with the Montana schools and SDSU. I'm not sure the Jacks would ever give up their prescious Sioux Falls tournament though.

ESPN is debuting a G5 Top 25 coaches poll in 2024. The separation is happening between G5 and P4, and quickly. First ranking is August 1. It will be interesting to follow.

MO State going CUSA. Cool, Cool, Cool. Everything is fine here.

THAT will rile up some folks here! LOL
Re: A new and better FBS thread
More proof that the quality of your football program means less and less when it comes to moving up. Missouri St provides a better area for recruiting prospective athletes and students, more eyeballs for TV, and a significantly higher enrollment than NDSU does.
Let's face it - NDSU just doesn't offer much to attract an FBS conference but I don't think NDSU has much interest in CUSA right now anyway.
Re: A new and better FBS thread
This has to be the final straw for NDSU doesn't it? Illinois State will be next.
