Most I've seen is some rumors they are trying to get into MAC. Doesn't mean it will happen.
Do think we should also talk to MAC if something doesn't pan out with MWC.
Wouldn't excite me as much, but seems like a reasonable path if other doors are closed.
Re: A new and better FBS thread
About 39 minutes in the ISU AD talks about how expansion is costing legacy BXII members money. He's not specific on "how" but to say it in public is interesting.

Another board pointed out the adds were pro-rata (media gives another full share per) under the media contract; it's likely not the media deal. Bowl money conference splits maybe?

Didn't he say directly in that interview the TV $$ didn't increase with the addition of the schools? He says "There was no new money ..."

That doesn't align with the BXII media contract that gives pro-rata (additional full share) to new members. The 4C schools were targets because of the pro-rata; they should "cost" the legacies nothing. That's why it's confusing.

At least originally I think that was capped if they went to 14 (they could add 2 and maintain the same payout per team). They ended up adding 4, but I’m not sure if they ended up changing the contract.
They’d still see a reduction in non-media conference payouts, which appear to be about 40% of the money paid to schools.

You don't need a war chest or anything, just a valid arguement. The NCAA doesn't give a shit how many teams are in the FBS and neither do the power players. If you want to be an indy and can pay the money to join, nobody is going to stop you.
