I agree with you to an extent..Fresno shouldn't not be on your list of bottom feeders, though. The Pac2 is two tiny market schools who benefitted tremendously by being in a conference that paid them for being bottom feeders for decades.
I am unconvinced that there will be some sort of reverse merger where OSU/Wazzu add schools to a dead league. They may join the MW but they aren't dictating policy under that scenario.
If the MW can figure out a way to kick schools out that will be the way the cookie crumbles. But that would just create new bottom feeders. If you believe that a snapshot right now is the only true indicator of how the future will be and disregard past success then you may miss out on schools who are just going through a down stretch.
The divide comes in football..It is wide and getting wider. Other sports not so much. Conference membership is about a lot of things.
Kicking schools out of a conference will not happen. Closest thing you’ll ever get is an attempt to get a school to leave by low-balling their media $ payouts.
Kicking a school out of a conference is some bad juju that is almost guaranteed to come back around one way or another.
We just lost chapo!!!! He's a buff now eh.

I've always liked Primetime and like what he's done as a college football coach. He didn't make the rules.
All affiliate-member schools. Should’ve clarified. St thomas the outlier for getting kicked out for dominating too much. Obviously will never happen at the scholarship divisions.
No schools are getting voted out of the mountain west. Unfortunately for us.
