this FBS stuff dictates how I feel about the fargodome expansion/remodel. If there isn’t a legit chance to go FBS soon, then I’m in favor of the renovations, despite being less than enthused about the overall architectural changes to the dome, and lack of seat capacity increase. On the other hand, if we can go FBS soonish, and they have these minimum stadium capacity thresholds (which are greater than what the fargodome currently has), then the whole thing is “lipstick on a pig” in my view.

Attendance isn’t a problem, the minimum attendance isn’t real since it’s never enforced.
What is a problem however is a conference doesn’t want the optics of such a small stadium (ridiculous, btw but it is what it is). And then the dome is obviously not expandable.
Pretty funny considering Hawaii was playing in a condemned stadium lol

Suggests there is a big battle behind the scenes for control of PAC and its assets. The departing members certainly would be incentivized to shut it down, but it looks like OSU/WSU trying to stop that. Normally departing members are excluded from any conference decisions according to rather standard bylaws. OSU/WSU should win this fight.
They could still be looking to use PAC as a shell to merge with MWC, or they could legitimately be looking to rebuild it. Quite possible the departing schools have thrown monkey wrenches in that if they haven't given up governance.
I’d be willing to bet my bottom dollar that this is nothing more than OSU and WSU trying to protect the leftover assets. Absolutely fuck the rest of the schools if they try to gut it and leave those two schools with nothing. Already left them for dead on the side of the highway and now want to go through their pockets as well. Shameful.
Osu/wsu needs to say they are going to use the conference, brand, rebuild, etc. even if they don’t want to and just want the money. The PAC is dead.

Hawaii hasn’t played at Aloha Stadium for a couple of years now. Their “temporary” on campus home had an initial capacity of a little over 9000 and is now up to 16000. It remains to be seen if a replacement for Aloha Stadium will ever be built.

Not to split hairs here, but the exact immortal words of Lloyd Christmas are “…so you’re TELLING ME there’s a chance…”

The 400 million dollar 25,000 seat expandable stadium has been approved and is set to open in 2028.

Aloha Stadium was a very cool stadium. Greatest fan road trip. They don't call Hawaii paradise for nothing. By far the best tailgating ever. It just got old and needed to go. It did not belong to the University. It was built as a multi use facility. I am sure that a new multi purpose thing will get built as part of a large entertainment development.
It was not close to campus at all but Aloha was a good stadium for a long time.
I think, in most cases having the football stadium on campus is better. It just adds to the vibe. I think , if they choose, the university can expand the temporary facility into a permanent home. I think 20 to 25 thousand is just about right.
I think your stadium is great. It is a fan friendly environment and that is important. It is warm in winter.

I left at half to go home and watch. Lol. Roehl’s play calling was 100% the reason though.
