Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
- Per goldensports.net, I added Colby Ring from Brainerd to the list of players receiving interest from NDSU. He said that e "was still in the running for running back or linebacker." He was one of the finalists for "Mr. Football" in Minnesota - Varmah Sonie won it.
- Added the video links for Jarrett Fowlkes that wisconsinfootball posted (thanks!).
- We're in the middle of the NCAA-mandated recruiting dead period, so there probably isn't going to be much recruiting news until the second week in January.

Cordero Finley out of WI gave a verbal to that school about 70 miles to the north today...
Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
I was wondering if anybody, maybe Marlins, could get some info on the two wisconsin QB's that Kolpack mentioned on his blog.
Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
- Updated list with two QB prospects mentioned in Kolpack/Hallstrom blog by Steve Hallstrom.

I'd be interested in that too - I'm not sure about the stats for either player that I put in the Quick Recruiting Guide. I did see that there's a chance that one of them, Jorgensen, might end up playing baseball.
Off-topic: I hope we get a great WCO QB. It seems to me that the staff has been a little too fixated on getting a dual-threat QB when that is not really a priority for the WCO (unless they're tweaking the offense). If I'm right about this (and it doesn't seem likely given my track record), I wonder how much that has to do with our defense's difficulties to stop a running QB? Meh, if we are going to recruit RBs as QB, we might as well let them run :)
That said, I've got nothing against QBs who run a lot in HS - at least it shows that they are athletic.

Re: 2009 Recruiting: Quick Reference
I read on a Michigan pay site that a guy that sounded "in the know" that he was going to walk on at Western Michigan. OUCH. I doubt that is the case, but he will end up with a free education based on his grades/test scores. So it is possible. This kid is a difference maker.
