Some three and two star guys on there. NDSCS QB Chris Hale is a two star on there. Anybody know if we have been looking at him at all? I dont know if he's what we want though...
And usually you don't hear of FBS transfers from the summer, but it would be nice to get one.

Don't know if this kid has ever been mentioned, but we've had some interest in him. QB Tim Dondanville from Springfield, Ill. Not sure if he's a top priority for us or not right now.

if so, I tend to agree. He was putting up some impressive stats, but then had a season ending injury. I am pretty sure we will bring in two QB's, so it would be nice to take a chance on this kid. 6'4 and 215 lbs.

I read an article about him that was dated 10 days ago and he never mentioned one MAC school that had offered or that he was going to visit. He did talk about Saqinaw Valley and Grand Valley offering, and NDSU. This from another message board, referring to Westendorp:Quote:

I agree. A Detroit Sports writer said he was too good to let go, and that a MAC school would end up offering. He is legit. Good kid, great grades, big frame, very strong, strong arm, etc....total package. Oh, and a winner! We need a kid like this to verbal so we can get fired up about the QB position again.
The hockey school up North has a million posts from their loss on the ice tonight to a team that apparently can't score (I read that in our paper), Fargo is not a hockey town, but our paper covers it. Anyway....they verballed a kid named "Field" from Brookings according to the SDSU fan sight. I have never heard of him, tried to find him...couldn't....etc. I wonder if they beat SDSU for a Brookings kid? Who knows. No info on this kid. Any info out there? Of course nobody cares on the UND sight. Nobody ever posts there....unless they want to fire their hockey coach for getting them to the final 4 (of 20) or extend their football coach for his impressive first year. Trying to stir the pot in this boring time before signing day.
OK, so when do we panic over no QB verbals? I would think by now we should have something. We had better not go through another miserable year like we did this year. Pick up every prospect we can, just in case Mohler has problems.
UND has three verbals. 2 are JUCO.
SDSU has two verbals.
We have what...10? We are doing very good right now. Skill position players take time. Especially when they are good. They all wait to see if they are going to get the "Big" offer.
Signing day will be fun. Can't wait to compare classes with our competitors.
I think when it comes to QB Bohl is going for a home run, and that will take time.

Matt Field, a 6-5, 285-290 lineman. He's no where as close to as good as teammate Alex Parker who committed here. Field is slower than Parker and from talking to several coaches doesn't have the upside Parker has. The only reason SDSU has two commits is they don't have as many replacements to bring in this year. DI FBS schools are notorious for dangling the "we may be able to offer you a scholarship yet" carrot in front of players that are borderline. That is probably the type of players we are waiting on. Things will be heating up after the first of the year.
Cordero Finley out of WI gave a verbal to that school about 70 miles to the north today...

So where is Kolpack getting his information that Anders Lee is no longer on the radar and has decided to play hockey? I don't recall anyone here posting that he made that decision. Both Lee and Westendorp are the only 2 QB's that NDSU has offered to date so if true there is only one on the table now. Hopefully there is a talented JUCO or FBS transfer being worked on that we have not heard about (coach Bohl, please surprise us with an announcement of a great find like this). Again, if Lee is out of the running Westendorp is clearly the next best thing. After that I am concerned that NDSU will again be settling for less than hoped for......the addition of a couple more somewhat unknown QB's from Wisconsin as options sure makes it seem that way.

2. NDSU has five QB's on their radar (some, like Edina's Anders Lee would be on it, but have chosen to play other sports in college.)
3. I believe AJ Westendorp of Holland Christian in Michigan (6-2, 210) is their top choice. He does not have an FBS offer as of yet, but it's expected that he will before signing day. He is the only QB that I've been able to confirm that has a campus visit scheduled (as of a week or so ago). He will not be in Fargo until January 17th, though, so this position will likely come down to the proverbial wire.
I believe that there was an article linked somewhere on here last week that quoted Lee saying he planed to play hockey.

I don't think he was ever interested in playing football at the FCS level. He has had long-standing offers at big-time hockey schools. When he indicated that he was interested in playing football in college, my take was that he was hoping for an offer from the Gophers, or at least a very good FBS program.

Steve Hallstrom is reporting on his blog that Brent Jorgenson of De Pere, Wisconsin will most likely be offered during his visit in January. Reading between the lines, it sounds like Brent is NDSU's #2 choice after A.J. and both will be/have been offered. It also sounds like Brent will accept(no solid word on A.J.). SDSU, UND & USD were all interested, but cooled off after they learned NDSU was at the top of Brent's list.
