Bibeau is on scholarship.
I hate the goofers but we should get the shots in while we can. They have a pretty good recruiting class coming in. Gray, the quarterback that committed to them during the Army AA game looks like a complete player............when healthy
With the spread offense coming to Michigan, it looks like the last years backup quarterback might be looking for a new home.
Rumor has it he wants to go to UCLA or Arkansas
Tim Sauer, the 6'8, 250 OL from Rosemount, MN will be visiting NDSU next week and is basically down to NDSU and Northern Iowa. He recently visited Colorado but both CU and MN want him to walk on and he said last night that he wants a scholarship.
Wow sounds like some nice size potential. like was said earlier add 50 lbs of muscle and he could be a beast if he has the coordination to get it done. It will be interesting going up agains UNI.
thats exciting to know...the recruiting info has been pretty slow lately
Yeah I hope we get him! He sounds a bit undersized for his height but with our world class strength & condition facilities, he has the potential to become a BIG TIME player. I mean REALLY GOOD! This would make a great recruiting class even better. Let's get him! He can clear the path for DJ McNorton after Roehl and Paschall are gone. Here's the DJ Highlight video... http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=13974511
that dj vid was just added to the favorites...haha
I understand we have a Safety in from Houston, and next weekend will be a really big weekend for us. It will be a smaller class, I am hearing around 12 scholarships available....still no rumblings of a quarterback.
Anyone with any recruiting info? Any rumors? From what I heard the safety from Houston may have been up here last year but didn't commit? Does that ring a bell for anyone?
on my wisc recruits thread, burgandy. I see there is 3-4 kids coming to NEXT WEEKEND'S recruit visit.
Get to the BSA and get a good BBALL crowd, PLLLLEASE!!!
now that burgandy mentioned it...i do belive i do remember them talkin about a safety from houston....or maybe my mind jsut want me to think i remember...either way its fun to finally hear some more recruiting info :D
Scout article on Sauer, it's a pay site so here is a brief clip from article
http://www.goldensports.net
"I've been down before the dead period about three weeks ago to Northern Iowa for an official visit. This weekend, I am going up to NDSU for an official visit," he said. Both schools like me as an offensive tackle."
He also says that Northern Iowa is his favorite but he hasn't visited NDSU yet.
To bad he couldnt have came to a game this year to experience the atmosphere of the dome
Yeah that does suck considering the dome is larger here and it's tough to capture the atmosphere unless your there.
Check this out... A simulated game experience! Watch all the clips in order... of course this doesn't include 3 hrs of tailgating, the gold star marching band...

is it sad that those clips never get old...just think how loud its gonna be in the dome next year with all the hype of being elligible and hype of just being one hell of a football team....im willing to bet we have alot of early verbals next season :D
what weekend are the 3 or 4 recruits coming up...is it next weekend?
This weekend they are coming. Recruiting weekend, I am sure they will go to the hoops games.
A guy on the Hammer show just said that he feels UND has out recruited NDSU and that nobody has decommitted since the coaching change. I hate it when people who don't know what they are talking about get on the air. Our class is small, but really good right now. We only have a few more spots available....but to call UND's class better at this point is silly. Seriously.
I heard that too. Recruits for any team haven't proven anything at the collegiate level, so it's tough to compare recruiting classes until four years after the fact. With that said, I haven't seen UND's recruits, but it sounds like they're landing a good class. I hope they do since they can up their scholarship count.

That is a link to the Sioux verbals to date. Appears pretty small town to me, I just don't see us recruiting against them very often. There are a few times. They clearly have a bunch more schollies to offer up this year as we are at max, and will only be offering about 12 this year. One guy on their website stated they would have 7 ND starters on their starting defense.
Mitch Sutton is a player. He was Wisconsin's Gatorade Player of the Year. They also received a verbal from Ian Rosario from Alaska, who appears to have potential. UND has a lot more scholarship money than NDSU. Although the recruiting class this year will be small, it has great talent.
I know Seth Whistoff was being heavily recruited by both schools. His brother played for UND, so I am guessing that why he ended up there. Otherwise, I don't think UND and NDSU are going after the same kids.
Interestingly, the Sioux have three QBs on their verbal list. We haven't had that many total QB recruits in the past four years combined. Sioux must be tying them up so we don't get any :D
Seriously, if we don't get a big time QB recruit this year, this class will suck no matter who else is on it, IMHO. We need some QB depth and we need it now.
Seriously, I can't believe we all sit around and talk about how great our recruiting classes have been when we haven't had a decent QB recruit since Mertens signed during the Clinton administration :banghead:
I agree....but I really doubt we were on a Quarterback from Perham...no offense.
Not to offend any of your guys thoughts...but if bohl thought we needed a QB im sure we would have offered one by now...I dont see what is wrong with Mertens or Parsons, we havent had QB troubles...with our running game who needs a flippin all star QB? we will be just fine, i have faith in mertens and parsons
Here is something interesting. Daniel Eaves, Melvin Thomas, and according to Ol' Ball Coach ...DJ McNorton to a small extent all played quarterback in high school. Something to think about.
I don't think anyone is questioning Mertens. Most people would like to see a QB in this class to be groomed as his replacement in 3 years.
I dont think there is any way (unless we hear directly from the coaches) we can know whether there has been any offers to quarterbacks. I would think it is most likely we will see one on the list released on signing day.
Here is my guess. There will be at least two QB's on the list this year. (competition is the key). I think it has been difficult to sign a top notch QB when Mertins has been an underclassman. There are so many talented young QB's out there who can play as a Freshman or Soph. They want to go to a school where the QB is older. This year and next are the prime recruiting years for a QB for this reason. We'll get a couple before next fall.
I have been wondering who the number two guy will be next year. The backup QB is always one blitz away from being the starter. I'm curious if Parsons will move back to QB since we only have two guys on the roster right now.
Parsons was a QB last fall, and played as one. He was also a WR and a reverse man. My guess is he plays the same role this fall but is listed as the backup QB unless Bohl brings in a transfer. Just a guess, but I think he can beat out Brecke for the backup job.
IMO it would be nice to bring in a QB for this recruiting class, but to those that think it is a necessity...no, that's just not the case. We are OK as is. Next recruiting class is a different story however.
Mr. Burgundy
I agree....but I really doubt we were on a Quarterback from Perham...no offense.
Shane is a family friend of mine, dude never even got an offer from NDSU, and would've loved to play in Fargo.
Oh well, he will be converted to safety/cornerback Im sure.
lots of small town kids around here NOT even getting offers by NDSU, as NDSU is hitting the big city, chicago, wisconsin texas... you get the pictures
I wonder if the newest stud QB recruit for MN will force one of their QBs to transfer here?
it is probably going to move his son to a different position...
Sounds like you might have one less coming on an official visit at some point. Was Keegan one of the Wisco recruits that was discussed here before?
From the SF Argus Leader:
Quote:
Keegan Nesvacil, a tight end from Middleton, Wis., has verbally committed to play football at South Dakota State.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder was an honorable mention all-conference pick in Wisconsin’s largest class. He was scheduled to make official visits to North Dakota State and Illinois State, but decided to accept the Jackrabbits’ scholarship offer while in Brookings on Monday.
