Will the paper toss league take him back or has he aged out of that too?

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
It appears Wentz will start the season without a team. 2nd time in 3 years...

Long time before the season yet.

If the Steelers can't land Rodgers I'd like them to bring C Dubs in If he's willing. Howard is a poor man's version of him and likely idolized him as a kid (Philly suburb guy). Mason Rudolph is a big guy too. Think they maybe could all relate a bit.

The NFL media doesn't even mention Wentz anymore.

Out of curiosity, why would they?.....
Do they mention other 2nd and 3rd string QBS on a regular basis?
When is the last time the NFL media mentioned and talked about Jake Haener, Sean Clifford, Josh Johnson, Easton Stick, Davis Mills, Hendon Hooker, Mike White, Desmond Ridder, Kyle Trask, Sam Howell, ....well you, get the idea.
Those are all active 2nd and more so 3rd string QBS in the NFL. Is the media biased against them too?

Any of them picked second overall or was a huge part of winning a Super Bowl?

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
No. The NFL media doesn't like Wentz. There are retired players they bring up as options for teams looking for QB's.
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes both said Wentz showed his talent and work ethic and that he should be a starter in the league. The league basically ignored it.

Well yes.
Sam Howell was just traded to the Vikings.
Easton Stick signed with the Falcons.
Mike White gets mentioned.
Hendon Hooker is mentioned but I believe he isn't a free agent.
Davis Mills is still under contract as well, I believe.

I don't understand the Bison fans that denigrate Carson Wentz and act like he doesn't deserve a chance to compete to start in the NFL. He is talented enough to be drafted #2 overall and has the arm to make all the throws.

So, getting a blurb on the bottom of the screen at ESPN is "mentioning" them?
Then, I think Carson get's mentioned way more than any of those guys combined.
Outside of this board, nobody really cares about Wentz anymore...no one.
People here seem to think that he's on top of every NFL fans mind, and he is getting shafted or something. Weird....

If it makes you feel better, they just mentioned him on Fox Sports...they said no one talks about backup qbs in the media, and they mentioned Carson as part of that backup group.
So, they did talk about him, and also explained why they don't talk about him.
Happy now?

He WAS drafted #2, that doesn’t mean shit after this many years. He has also shown repeatedly in the last few years to make poor decisions. Yea he still has the ability to flash but at his age teams have seen enough to know what he is.
Once he realizes he’s a backup and can convince teams he understands that he could be a QB2 in the NFL for many years to come.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I still wonder what was behind the decision to part ways with the Chiefs. Was is purely Carson's decision? Was he even offered another contract to stay? The Chiefs signed Gardner Minshew as their backup. Seems like a downgrade from Carson. I suspect Carson did his homework to see if any other team might be interested in at least giving him a chance and inviting him to camp as a FA. Yet no offers, no movement there.

I think the deciding factor was Wentz wants a chance to compete as a starter one last time. Not going to happen in kc.

New Orleans back in the picture with Derek Carr's retirement?

Maybe. What's Aaron Rodgers think?

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Does this give Carson two options for the season, Saints or Steelers? If Rodgers plays it will be for one of them and the other will still need a QB.

The problem with Erin is he isn't worth he thinks he's worth.
Perhaps there's some of that going on with Carson?

Rodgers has supposedly told teams he will play for $10 million next season and it isn't about the money.

Rodgers is fulfilling his Favre arc and just wants to avoid as much training/practice as possible.

Steelers are pretty OK other than QB. I wouldn't be opposed to giving C Dubs a shot. At his best, he's a very serviceable QB. At his worst, he's probably still better than Mason Rudolph.
End of the day I'll take whatever I get from the Steelers, its the least I can do to reward them for not falling for the Shedeur trap
