Wentz was on the field with Mahomes on the Chiefs first TD drive. Wentz took the snap and pitched it forward to Kareen Hunt coming the other way. They gained a couple of yards and Kareem Hunt scored a TD on the next play.
Tom Brady is the color guy and he joked about Wentz getting on the field. He said thataboy Wentz I know you really want to be out there throwing it.
It is good to see that Andy Reid is using him in the gameplans.

If I was Carson and I didn't have the opportunity to compete for and win the starting job I would stay with the Chiefs as Mahomes backup. Chiefs are an organization that is humming along with great coaching for QB's.
I find it quite funny that the author claims Wentz is done as a starter in the league and that he isn't even a threat to beat out a guy that hasn't played a down in the NFL.
I tend to believe what I have read that the reason Wentz has had trouble finding backup jobs or the ability to compete to start is the organization doesn't really want him to be the starter and they don't want to risk the team seeing that he is better than the guy they want to have as the starter.

There might be some truth to this. QB controversies kill locker rooms. The Chiefs have nothing to worry about, because Mahomes ain’t losing the job unless both his arms fall off, so why not grab the most talented backup in the league?

Wentz is in at QB for the Chiefs. Mahomes with an ankle injury and Chiefs with a comfortable lead.

No flubs by Carson. 2 for 2 and 20 yards. Could have maybe gotten a TD at the end, inside the 20 with time, but they went into victory formation.

They play Saturday against Houston and next Wednesday (Christmas Day) against Pittsburgh. Depending on how he responds (or doesn't respond) to treatment Wentz could get a couple starts - or maybe none but high ankle sprains can be tricky.

Would make sense for them to rest him with that many games on a short turn around. They have 3 tough games and could lose home field advantage, but with Mahomes healthy I'm not sure if matters where they play.

Mahomes was able to practice today I guess. I did see where they called it a mild sprain.
I really liked how complimentary Coach Reid and Mahomes were to Wentz in the press conferences today. Both of them talked about how Wentz should be a starter in the NFL.

I'd be shocked if that wasn't the case. With Mahomes getting nicked up at least twice this season and KC already locking up the 1 seed in the AFC it makes sense.
Consequently Denver is sitting in the last wild card spot in the AFC and a win would allow them to clinch that spot so Carson will have a lot of fans in Cincinnati and Miami this week.
