I think you're mis-interpreting the term "highest rated conference champions". It's not the champions of the 6 highest rated conferences that get automatic bids into the 12 team playoffs it's the 6 highest rated individual conference champions. So if the MWC is rated as the 6th best conference as a whole their champion doesn't get into the 12 team CFP unless that champion is one of the 6 highest rated individual conference champions. Given how the Pac-12 might end up shaping up it could be two of the current G5 conference champions making the CFP from time to time.Quote:
