How many QBs have made it 17 games? How many times has Mahomes stayed in a game because they didn't want to go to their 87 year old back up. Wentz was pretty much the only QB with a winning record. Fan duel had Wentz ranked as the 20th best backup QB. Unless they ranked him low in terms of potential playing time, they were smoking something. Wentz is easily a top 3 backup QB in terms of production and talent.

I don't think it would be good for his career to get traded to a flailing team that is a complete disaster. His best bet is to stay with the Chiefs. If he doesn't get an opportunity to start or compete to start with another team next season he needs to re-up with the Chiefs for next season.
