If he is going to be a backup next year I prefer he stays with the Rams. He is getting great coaching there.

It’s the nfl bro. Baker mayfield got a shot of one or two games too.
It could and should happen.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Lots of people always refer back to 2017 but he had really good years in 18 and 19 and people forget his line and wrs were really injured those years.
He still took way too much crap for his year in Indy as he had a good year. Crud he had 27 tds to only 7 ints that year.

The problem with Indy was yea he only threw 7 picks, but those picks came at worst possible time in those games so they looked way bigger. I agree he had a very good year in Indy and took way too much blame, I mean look at how inept the offense looked the year after he left. It was obvious Carson wasn't the issue. But again, when those picks came and then that last game against the Jags is what pushed him out there.

He could have thrown 0 picks. Irsay was getting rid of him over Covid shot either way.

We'll see but I'm guessing some team will give him a shot, there's a lot worse starters in the league.

If geno smith can start and get the contract he did then Carson surely can.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
If Carson wants to play cheap the broncos are in a rough spot. They’re going to have to pay Wilson to play somewhere else. Their cap sucks. They either need a rookie qb or an affordable journeyman.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The problem with a lot of sparkly and shiny NFL prospects is that there is an awful lot of hype that no NFL player can possibly live up to. Then once they do not live up to the fans' unrealistic expectations (due to the hundreds of dynamics in football), the piling-on criticism starts. Carson has done well, and we never had to worry about him embarrassing himself or NDSU with any scandals. He is also a smart and ethical man and no matter what, he will do well post-NFL.

He really cant afford to go to a bad situation as it will not set him up to be successful and the teams poor play will be blamed on him.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
If he can be extended my the Rams then that would be the best for him. Doesn’t necessarily need to be the man when the guy in front of him does seem to have injuries on the frequent. He’d get his chances to play and make some bank. Maybe even get more praise than anything.

Wentz might be in on the next drive

There is no way Stafford didn’t get a concussion on that hit

Go watch the video of his head bounce of the turf his eyes roll back and arms go into the fencing position and you’ll see that yes he is playing well with a concussion.

Dude. He was evaluated in the flesh by a real live credentialed neurosurgeon.

I did watch it and I didn’t see his reaction as such, I thought he was reacting to his side being twisted like that.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Does Wentz stay with the Rams as Stafford's backup or does some team give him a shot at starting?
If he stays a backup returning to the Rams seems to be the best place for him. He is receiving excellent coaching with the Rams.

This guy thinks they should keep him. https://theramswire.usatoday.com/202...ign-offseason/

Perhaps the Broncos might be interested... speculation abounds

We need a young guy, we’ve been picking up random veterans for too long now.

When you spend 200mm on a veteran bust who you’ll now be paying to play for someone else you don’t really get to be impatient with anyone.
Because you can’t afford any other option. Are their fans smart enough to figure it out? Probably not. Does the coaching staff care what they think? Definitely not. They proved that this year when they packed it in on the season while they were still technically alive for a wild card spot.
The odds of Wentz being successful with Payton are higher than a rookie coming in and figuring it out. I think it’s a good fit.

You don’t understand that people will give time for a rookie to grow. One bad play from a veteran and people will be calling for them to get cut.
Again I think Wentz could do well, but I don’t think Denver is the right fit currently

Yeah but cut for who? You’ll have a roster of journeymen because of cap issues. Zack Wilson? lol

As a Broncos fan...please...no.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
I know it wont happen but Id love to see Wentz start in ATL with Kyle Pitts, London, and Bijan Robinson. Rams OC there now.

That'd be a good fit as well. Espeically if they draft one of the top 4 qb's on the board. Hopefully they learned their lesson about throwing a rookie to the wolves.

do you think that a rookie is going to play better than wentz?
payton is on a short leash and he's not going to lose his job because of public sentiment. he's going to lose his job because of the ownership. which qb do you think has a better chance of getting the broncos to the playoffs? jj mccarthy or carson wentz?
fans by their very nature are fucking stupid. this board often proves that. to think they have some sort of say in this conversation is fanatical in its own right.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
Wouldn't Carson's religious beliefs and Sean Payton's voodoo magic he learned in New Orleans kind of cancel each other out?

People (particularly on innerweb) just wanna argue. It's that "Look how smart I are!" syndrome.

Wentz would have 8 games in Denver max. After that if they aren’t looking like a playoff team he’s done. A rookie would have 2-3 years. Payton does not have a short leash, wtf are you talking about lol.

listen bro i know john elway (thanks to lakes for making the intro) and he told me that payton's leash is really short after forcing wilson out.
he doesn't produce next year and vrabel is your new coach this time next year
wentz is the only way he saves his career.
unless he can get taysom hill somehow

That would be important if Elway still worked for Denver....
