Bison Video Blog: The aftermath of the Marker Game and a look ahead to Murray State
North Dakota State returned to the top of the polls Monday afternoon.

There are a pair of connections between the programs, the Racers starting quarterback is Jayden Johannsen. Johannsen hails from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was a member of the 2019 Bison football team. He transferred following that year to South Dakota Mines, where he was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Award, which goes to the top player in Division II.
Johannsen's position coach is Zeb Noland, the former Bison quarterback, who started eight games for NDSU in the spring of 2021. Noland left NDSU and took a job at South Carolina, before joining Wright's staff this year.

McFeely: Anemic national TV numbers for Bison-Jackrabbits
Dakota Marker rivalry game carried by ESPN2 draws fewest viewers for any nationally televised NDSU football game
https://www.inforum.com/sports/bison...on-jackrabbits
Carried by ESPN2, the game averaged just 174,000 viewers in a prime-time slot with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The figure comes courtesy of Programming Insider, a website that tracks television viewership.
That's the lowest rated nationally televised game, by far, since the Bison started showing up on nationwide networks after their move to NCAA Division I two decades ago.
That's the danger of taking away profitable marquee games from local broadcast partners — in this case Fargo-based WDAY-TV (owned by Forum Communications Co., as is The Forum) and Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Midco Sports — and believing FCS games can compete with the big boys for eyeballs. The local partners lose a big game and the advertising dollars that go with it and the contest gets swamped in the national picture.

Murray head coach Jody Wright called recruited Noland when he was an assistant at Alabama.
