I still believed th Vikings should have picked him up instead of Dobbs but I am despising the Vikings for never picking up any bison players even when they have a need at that position.
Carson isn’t going to retire. He was having a blast out there today. It’s what he loves to do. Compete

He made some great plays. Had to be fun again as the uncle.

He sure looked pretty into it those few plays I was able to see. Glad to see him back out there and doing well.

Just surmising, but it seems that several historic things were happening today concerning these quarterbacks and other Bison in the pros. On the other hand, I could be homering not so eloquently, as I’ve been known to do. :judges:

I think that you’re both right. And the article pointed out that Coach Gruden is a good friend of Sean McVey, the current Rams coach.

Gruden said he would love to coach Wentz.

This was your chance to just admit Wentz actually played well and probably deserves a starting look, and this is the best you can do.

I'm surprised the post had even a smidgeon of positivity.

Na. The pre-canned response is that he had good game against scrubs.

There were a few designed QB runs, but quite a few of them were read-options where they were jumping the back and Carson made the correct call to pull it back and run it himself. Was a very solid game. Showed some very good touch on some mid-deep throws putting it right where it needed to be. The first TD to Nuca was a great throw. The one pic was a ball that was tipped at the line, then deflected off a receiver into a diving linebacker. Don't recall seeing any of those "Whoa what are you doing?" type throws. Didn't look like he tried to force anything except, maybe the deep throw in the fourth that they got the PI on. But even that was more of a "I'm gonna let my guy go make a play." type throw then trying to force something.

Wentz was incredibly clutch yesterday. Comeback victory from down 2 scores. On 3rd and 4th down, he was 7/9, 90yds, 2TD.

He was clutch, the last TD pass was about as good as you can get. Still amazes me the Vikings didn't pick him up when Cousins went down. So much better than anything they had behind Cousins.

From what I heard from a friend who's a team employee, they did check into it and his salary demands were way too high.

Did the Rams pay the same demand? Because I seem to recall him signing at veteran minimum or something.
As for the NFL at large there were some bad QB's teams ran with in a pinch. Trevor Simien, Jake Browning (actually turned out to be ok), Tommy de Vito, Everyone on the NY Jets, everyone on the Minnesota Vikings post Cousins. Coaches lost their job riding the QB carousel (Heinecken/Riddler in Atlanta), Zappe/Jones in New England.
Have to think if any of them spent the "way too high" demand for Wentz they might have had a different kind of season.

Re: What sort of thread have you made for us? A Wentz thread, if you can keep it.
The best part is Carson is on his way up while Philly is on the way down. Hurtz got hurt and has been playing so-so the last few weeks.
That 4th and 4 play was crazy where he was laying down and tossed it to the running back.

I’ve asked you about this before and your claim was that you are a realist Bison fan who really hopes for Bison players to do well in the NFL. Turns out you’re either full of shit or a UND troll.

My post was a joke about TR being the OC during the game, as Carson ran 17 times.
Some other Carlos Mencia joke stealer poster on here stole my joke verbatim after I posted, and you never said he was a Wentz hater...so I don't follow how my post was hating on him.
Can you enlighten me? Or are you still drunk?

2 things, 1) he wanted starter scale money 2) the Vikes had 0 cap room.
He signed with the Rams as a straight up backup. He did look good yesterday though.

You had an opportunity to say something like… “Carson had a great game. I hope it gives him a good shot at another starting job…” or something like that. Instead, you posted what you did and now we all know what you are.

Wentz might be a good guy to have if your team is so good you legit think you can win without your starting QB.

Too many designed runs. Great to see Wentz on the field again.

No starters on the 49ers side during 2nd half. Good to see Carson getting the win , nonetheless.

Good to see Carson gain some much needed confidence and put himself in the starting QB discussion for a few teams next season.

I still think that ship has sailed, however, he helped assure he has a backup slot if he wants one. (frame of reference, sound like he had at least one opportunity to be a backup prior to the year)

I know he did not play against starters for the whole game, but I saw shades of 2017 Wentz in the sense that he was fearless without being reckless. I thought it was one of his better games since 2017 to be honest.

The entire first half was against the 49ers starting D. I agree with the 2017 Wentz comments. He seemed more fluid and confident. So many times the last 2-3 years he just looked rigid and timid back there.
I think the time away was good for him. I also feel like he looked in better shape

Honestly, the time off probably allowed him to heal. He looked healthy and loose. I agree he has been rigid for the last three years.
