MIAC trying to force out St Thomas

Seems awful similar to the NCC/D2 mindset of the 90s except they can't institute by laws to take away scholarships in non-scholly D3 so they want to use enrollment against them. Pretty sad mentality IMO... if they're staying within the rules everyone else in the division/conference plays under this just makes the rest of the MIAC look like sore losers. Hopefully the rest of the MVFC/FCS doesn't get any ideas.

We see this often. The let’s change them because we can’t get better.

That’s a achool that could afford to move up to the summit
Re: MIAC trying to force out St Thomas
That would be a really nice school to have in the summit.

How so? Not on board with this at all. D2 seems more appropriate. Plus you can't go straight to D1 from D3, no?
I find it interesting that while the P5 raises the bar the rest of us seem to want to lower it.
Ignoring the fact that they are currently D3, the only Summit/MVFC schools that would be on board with this are the bottom feeders, since it would create more recruiting competition in the cities.

Not a great institutional fit, but a great university/athletic department.

Sure, for a MN D2. But you want to put a Summit school in the cities to compete with? I don't think that's a good idea.
Re: MIAC trying to force out St Thomas
Seriously. Someone give me a solid argument for having a D1 Summit school in the cities.
You think Vinnie Shahid would be at NDSU if this were the case?

It would increase exposure in the Twin Cities, give the league a presence there and they are a quality school with money to compete. That said, they would be in the MVC within 10 years easy so what would be the point?

So now you're scared of them being competition?
