yea, WHATS UP WITH ASHLEY!!! should be sophomore, unless behind the scenes the NCAA denied her and NDSU didnt disclose that to the public.... yet.

I think she's supposed to be listed as a sophomore. She played as a true freshman at Colorado State in 2005-2006 and sat out last year (2006-2007). She still has 3 years remaining.

Roster is updated to list Ashley as a Sophomore.

We have 6 seniors on the squad broken into 1 Post, 2 Wings, 2 off-guards and 1 point guard. There are 10 returning players for 2008-2009 which very-roughly break down to:

3 posts: Penley, Zaruba, Kallemyn
2 wing/forwards: Samuelson, Popovici
1 wing/guard: Shea
2 off-guards: Trecker, Plucker
2 point guards: Hodgson, Wilka

In reality, Wilka is probaly more of a wing/guard so it's imperative that the Bison bring in a point guard. Kamille Wahlin is a top priority but I would also not be surprised for the staff to go the JC route as well.

Amy likes to have large rosters so it might be it might not be out of the realm of possibility to see 4-5 recruits coming in.

Large rosters are common in women's basketball because the NCAA allows 15 scholarships (that's about 2 too many) --- men only get 13.

No doubt that would be to help the Men vs Women scholarship levels for Title IV

Given the freakish frequency of ACL injuries among women's basketball players, I'm OK with larger roster sizes.
