For the first issue - end of August.

It is scheduled to be football related so fire away with suggestions...

Jeff Bentrim

Since Leif Murphy is having some current success in arena football (see my thread in the Football topic area) he might be a good candidate. Obviously others of interest are Jeff Bentrim, Chris Simdorn, Lamar Gordon or Stacy Robinson. I would have added Tyrone Braxton, but I am sure with his fairly recent troubles he wouldn't be a good candidate at this time.
Also wonder how Rob Hunt is doing in the European league. Follow up on Craig Dahl, Justin Frick or Kyle Steffes status would be interesting too.

Arden Beachy in addition to the above mentions.

I'll second that.

Cory Vartanian or Richard Lewis. Lewis especially, he was such a threat on special teams.

Maybe Ryan Johnson or Lamar Gordon?

Jeff Bentrim is the obvious #1 choice I would think. I wouldn't mind seeing a later one on James Molstre as his younger brother Steve was one of my classmates in Dickinson.

He played in the CFL. For Saskatwon Roughriders and won a GREY CUP. Also got into the College Football HaLL of Fame, Bison Hall of Fame, and played softball with Sambini and Wacker in the Hall.

I'd like to hear about some of the guys from the teams in the '60s and '70s too like Chuck Wald.

Bruce was a heck of a running back. Very fast. From what I understand he had a pro try out but was cut. I saw him a few years later at a game and he was managing a Ponderosa steak house I believe.
How about Steve Nelson. All Pro New England Pats. He had a very successful coaching career at a Div III school and is now working for a computer company according to Simmers.
Sanford Quale(sp)
Mike Puestow
Mike Everson
Bob Erickson
Keith Kresbach
Jerry Dahl
Nick Cichy
Plus there are a few more that all had try outs.

From the old days how about Tim Mjos(sp) I heard he was an orthopedic surgeon.
or Lyle Anderson and Jim Fergy.

I would say Bentrim number one followed by Chad Stark.

I think a follow up on how Steffes, Dahl, Frick, and Tadish are would be cool. That said, does anyone know how they are doing now in regards to still being with their respective teams.

I was going to suggest him but from what I recall after leaving college he had some issues with the law. Hopefully he has worked that out. PL

He suggested Hatchett because Kolpack wrote an article almost a year ago about trying to find him. After many months of searching, Kolpack never did locate him, and was only able to track him through the country via arrest reports and other court documents. The last known identification was in 2004 for a DUI charge in Savannah, GA. A truely sad case.

(The article was printed in the August 27, 2006 Forum under the title "All-American mystery". You can read it through In-Forum's PressPass if you pay for the article or subscribe to the service.)

Tadish was back a week after minicamp started. Said he was hoping to get a look from someone else now. Also walked through graduation with Trav White who said he and Adam were looking to go play ball in that league that Marcus and Alan are playing in. ;)

I watched Paul Hatchet play back in the sixties. Truly a great talent, but has had a very troubled life. I wish it could have turned out better. He was a good one!
