I apologize for breaking into this thread with actual information but, the Forum is reporting that the search committee has indicated that they need more time to gather input from the UND community and Kupchella is likely to remain as President until at least July of 2008.

They won't advertise the position until September and will decide on finalists in January 2008. WTF?

How long does it take to get a plan in place for hiring a new President? Good grief, it's not like Kupchella announced his retirement yesterday. Oh well, I guess they will get it done eventually but it seems odd that the process appears so difficult.

Now, you guys can get back to Animal House. After reading this thread I got out the VHS tape and watvhed it again for like the millionth time.

Sorry, had to do it. Actually, it takes crap like this forever to get worked out. Everybody who's anybody has to have their hands in the pie. It's probably a good thing, though - end up getting the best person available for the job. I've seen first-hand the process when hiring faculty on campus. I'm sure it's much more involved when it comes to a President.
