Beginning with the 2008-09 season, assuming the measure is approved May 25 by the Playing Rules Oversight Committee, the line will move back a full foot to 20 feet, 9 inches. (3 inches farther than the international 3-point line)

The women's committee decided to keep its line at 19 feet, 9 inches, meaning there will be two distances and, possibly, two different lines on courts that men's and women's programs share.

Or 3 lines if there are games played in the facility with Intl rules. That could be a real mess.

Or FOUR lines in an arena that has Intl. competition, the NBA and a mens and womens college team!!

The line definately needs to be moved back it's entirely too close. That said I don't think it makes sense to have 4 seperate distances.

I agree with moving it back, but why not use the international distance? Seems to me we could use the familiarity with that distance in international tournys.
