Tyler Roehl with the TD!!

Extra point is good!!

Bison up 7-0!

NoDakSt

Aries Nelson, besides having a cool name, is a slippery little eel....avoided a 20 yard sack attempt.

NoDakSt
10-14-2006, 07:22 PM
Crap late hit call by the refs >:(

Bison need to adjust to Nelson's speed.

Are you listening to Thundar Radio? It was buffering so bad that I switched over to the Mississippi Valley State broadcast.

Ive got Bison Zone going but my all access is not working at all. It stops and starts all the time.

The Gophers are getting pounded, but they still look like a good football team.

NoDakSt

Crowd noise is playing havoc with MVS play calling....they have 3 consecutive false start penalties.

Dragos punt gives us field position. Cotton might have let that one go though.

Sounds like their D is tightening up a bit.

I switched back and it is working great. Much better than the Southern accent of the MVSU broadcast. I hope to listen to the volleyball game as well.

I found it a little difficult to understand their words. When they were saying MVSU I thought they were saying NDSU...

MVSU players going down hard....a couple injured on the last play....

Julius Love, who won SWAC recognition last week, can't put any weight on his leg...

hope they will be ok...

Is this pheasant opening this weekend? Or was that last weekend. I think anything under 16,000 is disappointing with the way this team is playing.

In predicting the attendance earlier this week I was very sceptical of the 17000+ predictions. I was hoping the new something I didn't. I think we are always going to get 14-16 k with this town for any game. Unless you bring in Montana or a playoff caliber team. I hope someday we can have a following like Missoula, where they're packed no matter who's coming to town.

Good drive so far by the Bison. A couple passes to White and now one to Heck. Let's put another one in the endzone. Bison on 7 yard line

Brower to the 2 yard line. Good to see him in playing running back.

10-14-2006, 08:40 PM
Who's MVSU playing?
According to their announcers they Playing North Dakota, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and North Dakota State. Maybe the whole NCC!!

Touchdown Bison!!!! 23-0

tcbison
10-14-2006, 08:43 PM
TD Steffes! 24-0 Bison. Gene Taylor was on Thunder Radio saying the Steffes really wanted to get Minnesota on the schedule. Glad NDSU could get that done.

Sounds like we have had some dropped passes this game. Roehl has had two and now Wuzbacher dropped one. In a game like this that is alright but next week we can't afford to have dropped passes.

Is MVSu 's defense that good? Hopefully this is our off-game, Or we a holding back.

KC7 at halftime they interviewed Coach Bohl on WDAY and he said we don't want to be Santa Claus. I guess he was saying MVSU isn't good enough to warrant opening up the playbook. MVSU might be athletic but they aren't very good.

Northern Colorado versus Eastern Washington is on DirecTV channel 644 (Altitude). Eastern Washington is blowing a very bad Northern Colorado team out 21 to nothing and is ready to score again as they are inside the 20 yard line.

My question about Ryan Parsons is if he wins the starting job after Steve Walker graduates will the Bison have to change their offense? He seems to prefer running over passing when he is in there. Is that a product of trusting his legs more than his arm? Can he work himself into playing more in the passing offense? The WDAY team says Ryan Parsons is just too talented, lots of speed and moves, to not be on the field. Interesting comments.

Northern Colorado now down 28-0. Boy are they bad. Big Sky has to be happy to add a quality program to the mix.

After this game I say NDSU really should push for the Gateway Football Conference. Gets rid of some of these overmatched division I-AA teams on the schedule.

The student section was REALLY fired up today. Great job by us. Everyone else... Um, no. A lot of living dead and late arrivals today. I was sitting right at the edge of the student hardcores next to a living-dead season ticket section, and whenever I tried to fire up that section on 3rd downs to make some noise, clap, ANYTHING, they'd just look at me like I was an idiot. I thought we would be able to recapture some of that Dome magic from the Marker game last year. At least a vast majority of the crowd stayed until the end of the 3rd when we were laying the paint on MVSU. I thought it looked like the attendance was closer to 17,000, but I'll take 16,384.

Some thoughts:

Travis White is VERY athletic. He's got great Barry Sanders-style jutting and cutting moves. I also never saw Ryan Parsons run as well as I saw him today. He almost looks like Tavaris Jackson out there. Good job putting him in late to give Steve some rest. A few HUGE TD plays really got the Dome ROCKING. The blocked punt for the TD, the INT for the TD in the 3rd 9I think it was the 3rd?), and the T-White punt return for the TD.

Great job today by the students for all their support.

Also, I'll probably get crap for mentioning this, but the state of North Dakota has only one undefeated college football team now. UND lost to UNO 21-20. :D

You should have seen the playfake and the rollout where he scrambled for his big gain. Nobody within ten yards of him. :)

How did Steffes look? Listening on the radio, after the 3rd quarter score, he was taken out? It seems that Wisconsin ran all over the Gophers, I'm hoping for a 100 yard and 2 score game out of Kyle next weekend.

Many, Many backups played all day today. The O-Line rotated guys in and out the whole game. Joe Mays only played a couple of plays and many other backups got to play. I didn't really notice the difference. There is a lot of young talent on this team.

NDSU is beginning to see the difference in having 63 scholarships and therefore having more talent on the team. We are starting to see the division I-AA talent and better depth supplied by the additional scholarships. In the next couple of years the depth should only get better.

At the end of the radio broadcast Phil talked about this same issue, the difference in talent level between the days when he played and today. He said the athletes are making plays today that they could not and did not make when he was playing for the Bison. I guess there is a difference between DII and DIAA.

Freshman Tyler Henry did a great job filling in for Joe Mays!

Gamehunter
10-15-2006, 11:27 PM
Henry had a great game. It's a damn shame guys like Henry have to sit on the sidelines most games when they could clearly be starting for over 3/4 of the I-AA teams out there. Matt Anderson from Cavalier is behind Mays as well. When Mays departs it should be interresting to see which one of these guys wins MLB.
