On the news up here tonight, they had a story involving Levi Haugen, an NDSU wrestling recruit, who is expected to plead guilty to a charge of simple assault stemming from an incident last fall when he tried to use a fake I.D. to enter an establishment where liquor was sold.

Don't know if it will affect his scholarship offer or not.

He was caught trying to use a fake ID...how much more guilty can you be? He's plead guilty to it too! C'mon! ???

Until he's convicted, it's an alleged charge.

Where did it say that he already plead guilty? All I saw was an assumption that stated he is expected to plead guilty. *::)

If he's convicted, then go ahead and crucify all you want.

I suppose O.J. is innocent too, all because of the due process ??? ;)

If the glove does not fit, you must acquit. ;)

To error is human, and I am not too good to admit that I am human. If the kid does it over and over that's another story, but many times people learn from mistakes made in their youth.

Well put BisonMav, same thing for that Beasley deal, nobody is perfect, these people are just the public spotlight. I am sure plenty posters on this board have done similar things that they have been charged or not charged for. What I am trying to say is lets not judge anyone on one or two small lapses in good judgement.

Boy I hope bisonfan is as perfect as he thinks he is. I was young once and if this is the worst this kid does it won't be too bad. Lets just hope he learns from it!

BisonFan = hypocrite (http://www.bisonville.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=BB;action=display;num=1109771050)

Apparently it's ok to condemn a high school kid but can't comment on the actions of a grown man.

I'm with BisonFan on this one, you don't 'hit' people after they take away your fake id, especially when they are female and you take them to the ground continually hitting them until you can get your fake id back.

I sincerely hope Haugen gets his head on straight.

(I also find it EXTREMELY interesting that the event took place last September, but nothing came of it until AFTER the state tourney.)

Nobody said what he did was okay. Just not ready to condem him to death row.

I also found that is was pretty "convenient" that the court hearing and the case wasn't made public until after wrestling season was over.

The 6 o'clock news said tonight that he will be spending 10 days in jail beginning May 20th, and will be on 18 months probation.
