North Carolina tonight - hopefully Matt Hermann's shoulder is better. NDSU can't get into a conference fast enough for these guys. Not only will that be Hermann's shot at being a DI All-American but just look at this chunk of schedule coming up.

Feb 06 at Northern Colorado
Feb 07 at Utah Valley State
Feb 10 at South Dakota State
Feb 12 at Northern Illinois (DeKalb, IL)
Feb 12 at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (DeKalb, IL)

Brutal. If you're thinking of driving from Fargo to each place in turn and then heading back to Fargo, that would be 3805 miles.

Oh yeah, Maresh is going to wrestle at heavy weight later in the season... that might be interesting to see.

I was wondering if he would come out for wrestling. Wasn't he a state champ in high school?

I can remember (awhile back) a Bison football player by the name of Don Meyer who made it to the championship match when the D-II tournament was held in the BSA. He had to wrestle some guy from Cal State-Bakersfield who weighed probably 350 or more, while he (Meyer) was only around 230. It was a great match, going into OT. A guy that size can't wrestle anymore. They need to weigh 275 or less.

Any info on the NC State team? Good luck to the Bison!

I went to my first wrestling meet this weekend. I went to watch a family friend wrestle at the high school meet at Red River in Grand Forks. I must say that I was surprised at how entertaining watching wrestling actually can be. I along with the other fans were getting into it alot more than I ever could have imagined. I don't know alot about wrestling or the scoring but I still found it entertaining. I may have to take in an NDSU meet sometime in the future.

Match with the BUNNYS got canceled because of weather. I guess it was bad by Summit yesterday. Back in 97 Bucky and the team got stranded there for 3 days at the Summit truck stop. We wrestle SIU EDWARDSVILLE ON SUNDAY.

Sounds like SDSU doesn't want to wrestle us? So MONDAY AGAINEST AMERICAN IS THE LAST MATCH.

I think it might be the other way around. NDSU decided to not come to Brookings. Bucky up to his old tricks again?

Quotes from Bison press conference on

http://www.gobison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=11989&SPID=701&DB_OEM_ID=24 00&ATCLID=238106

“We had to postpone our meet with SDSU because of the weather. They were going to reschedule the thing and now their coach does not want to reschedule it, so we are kind of fighting over it. We’d like to wrestle them.”

On SDSU not rescheduling NDSU:

“They are telling me they couldn’t find a date. I don’t know. Right now, they don’t want to reschedule us. I have suspicions that they don’t want to wrestle us this year.”

NDSU is the one who decided to not come down because of weather not the other way around?

Well hells bells jack if the weather is so bad you can't come down then you can't come down. Why would Bucky not want a sure win? ;D

I know the basketball referee was suppose to come from Sioux Falls and he couldn't make it. One thing about Bucky he doesn't back down.

Heck, even a snowplow operator had to turn back that day- Snow and strong winds buffet North Dakota (http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=117196&section=News)

I think they could have figured out a way to make the trip to Brookings. Someone indicated the Bison were a little beat up and wanted to delay the match a few days? Just like we can't do anything about the weather you also can't do anything about the availablity of Frost. I think maybe old Bucky is doing a little grandstanding.

How can you make a trip with a bus when there's no travel advised?

Maybe they should have been watching the forecast and gotten there earlier like a lot of teams do?

Give me a break you do know these kids still have to try and go to class. Thats what they are there for first. You can't have that many things going on down there as the winter season is just about done. Why put peoples lives in danger when no travel is advised.

++++

+rescheduling travel arrangements and having to take care of overnight accomodations in the very short term isn't easy.

Why didn't the Jacks reschedule the dual when the weather was better? They knew just as much as the Bison did. Why not move the dual up a couple days?
