The Bison host Utah Valley State Friday night at the BSA. *Last year the dual was very close with the Bison winning 19-16. *The Wolverines only have 2 starters from last years team returning so hopefully the Bison clean house. *Hope to see a good aggressive style of wrestling from the Bison. *They looked pretty down against SDSU before christmas, hope to see a little more intensity this time around. *Ryan Adams will be the starter at 149 and Gabe Mooney will be back down at 141 so that should help the Bison. *Look forward to seeing the 125 pounder Eric Hoffman wrestle again. *Prediction: Bison win all ten!

If you watched it on the net, I think you'd give UVSC more respect than that. 3-4 of the matches were very hard fought. I thought the Bison showed much greater determination than in their ealier match with the Jacks. Great come back by Hermann who was getting whipped early then wore down his guy. Wetterling and LaGosh made quick work of their guys. It was fun to watch.

We'll see how SDSU does tonight to gauge how good/bad UVSC is, or if the Bison just had a good night.

Looks like SDSU pretty much dominated UVSC according to this article from the gojacks website:
Jackrabbits cruise past Wolverines
BROOKINGS, S.D. — The South Dakota State University wrestling team won eight of the 11 weight classes Saturday night to secure a, 34-6, conference victory over Utah Valley State in front of 526 people at Frost Arena.

The Jacks jumped out to a 12-0 advantage after UVSC forfeited 125 pounds and 133 pounds. Junior Derek Pirner defeated Justin Morrill, 2-0, to increase the Jackrabbit lead. The Elk Point native used an escape in the third-period and riding time to secure the victory.

Sean Flynn, a Lansing, Kan., native, gave the Jacks an 18-3 advantage on the board upending Clayton Wolf in the 157-pound match, 9-7. With the win, the true freshman has now gone 3-0 in his last three matches. After Ryan Meyer defeated Dustin Olsen, 3-2, Watertown native Nate Althoff posted an escape and reversal to secure downing Marc Fenwick,4-2, at 174.
